Im currently in the need for a job myself. i used to work at Safeway [Slaveway] but i quit because i hated the overall job. not a bad job, got paid weekly about 180 or so. but the Union fees killed me. 400 bucks just to join, and an Extra 36 bucks a month to stay in. dont think so.

sometimes i'll go and help my uncle who runs his won shower door and window installation business. not bad money. bout 40-60 bucks a day i get. dont really do anything except clean, caulk, drill, screw and lift.

or you can go old fashioned and start a lemonade stand. 50 cents a cup open most the day on a hot day. good business. once made 50 bucks back when i was a lil younger.

I've had a couple jobs. I first started as a bagger. Then worked outside for the park service (best one yet). And until today I was a cashier at Petsmart. I just got hired at Panera Bread and I hope it's a nice job.

And I used to sell weed too for a while. If you don't know much about pot then wait until you're older and have smoked more or you'll probably get robbed.

Nope not anymore. (I actually just turned 20 recently, despite what my profile says), like I just told someone recently, a lifestyle that needs money has never worked well with me. Im interested in shamanism, but as someone suggested already I should probably take it more seriously and think about making an actual life out of it...... The more I think about it, the more exciting it seems! I was thinking a commune might need me for this, what do you guys think?

Go to India. It has been the center for spiritualism for thousands of years. India is to spiritualism as Japan is to electronics. For me that is the place that I most want to visit once I'm out of college.

I'm teaching guitar lessons. It's an awesome job...I can work at home, play music, talk to cool people, not work for a boss, teach people (which I love doing...) and get good pay.. I didnt want to get a job, so I made one for myself. I also play the ocasional jazz gig for private functions. My friends and I have a lot of fun doing that. The job is playing jazz and being brought martinis at some really swanky places.
hahahaha...one time after we played, we had dinner at a table with three superior court judges probably 50 years older than us...one of them asked me, "Are you legal drinking age yet?" "Uhh...yessir." The judge says "here, you can have this drink ticket. I've got an extra one..." Playing those gigs does mean shedding off the hippie thing for a bit, dressing in a nice suit and pretending to be really high class, but you get to the point where you're being the absolute opposite of a hippie street musician that you can appreciate the irony of it and it's hilarious.
Two months later, I played at a dub poetry festival. Dub poetry is done by Jamaicans..I dont want to say Rasta, but that's probably a good description. It's sually about political things, especially around race issues. It's rhythmic and cool... My band and I (we weren't playing jazz, or anything Jamaican) were the only white guys there and probably the only guys without dreads.

Just flipping burgers youre going to be able to pull in a good 1200$ a month full time. If don't worry about the job, if youre just starting out it's easy and youll have some dough. Sometimes you gotta face the facts and just do what you have to do to get by, but if youre going to whine the whole time, an employer probably doesnt want you anyway. So find a way to be happy, while doing it. Or maybe one of your parent's friends works a trade and you could become an apprentice. :chinese:

dude jobs are totally not neccessary ha
you can teach yourself how to play a guitar anyway,
    or just steal stuff.

but i knew a kid who spanged (spare changed) with a cat by his side. he got twice the money because people thought the cat was cute.

Oh my gosh, everyone is always talking about getting a job. I know I really should, especially once I get a car and all, but I don't like the fact that once you start working, you're pretty much working for the rest of your life [in a certain aspect] The only thing I was really thinking of for a job would be working at the co-op in our little downtown area.:)

No man, all the jobs available around here suck, plus I'd rather be free and not held down by a lame-ass, depressing job.

dbuba, my advise to u is this, don't worrie about "the man" get a job, make some money.
teaching guitar would be a good job for a 15 year old, but dont shun work to prove that you can protest. without the man we would be screwed, even more screwed than we are with him.

Exactly! Who wants to have to go to the same boring job every week? Depending upon what the job is it might be fun but, the options for a teenager aren't many. I think the best option (for me at least) is to eitheir bum around for cash on the street or, perhaps, sell stuff. I'm not sure though, eitheir way if I end up working at a grocery store (or where ever) it's not the end of the world. There are worse things then workin' for the man.

But I am worried about him.

    :policeman:hysterica:policeman

I would love to teach guitar but, I need to teach myself 1st. Also I don't think many parents would have their kids learn guitar from some teenager when they could go to a professional school. But yeah I need a job. This summer (or maybe sooner) I'm gonna try out the whole bum thing if it doesn't go well then after summer I'm gonna apply for a job. I really hate the idea but, I understand that I have to get money from somewhere.
