Greets We all identify with characters. This is what makes great movies great. Heroes are those that risk their lives for others. Thus all sports players ,politicians and sundry folk are not heroes. You dont risk your life kicking a ball. Who is the the one you identify with the most? I've always loved heroes. Say Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn, Or Wahlberg as Bobby L Swagger stand out. But the dark side has great strength. Thus, in the end, it would be Brad Pitt as Achilles. [his greatest role] [And this is where i stand appart from my normal view. Sometimes a true hero is an antihero] "If you go to troy. Glory will be yours, They will write stories about your victories for thousands of years. The world will remember your name. But if you go to troy, you wll never come home, for your glory walks hand in hand with your doom. [for killing Hector, pride killed him.. "for this is the fool that thought he killed achillies"] And i shall never see you agian." [The act with priam and achillies in the tent has to be one of the most profound in moviedom. And in this tent is where he changes from antihero to hero. For she brought him peace, in a lifetime of war] "Find peace,,, my brother If they ever tell my story, let them say i walked with giants. Men rise and fall like the winter wheat. But these names will never die. Let them say. I lived in the time of Hector. Tamer of horses. Let them say, i lived, in the time , of Achilles. Death is a small price to pay for this. How many of us are even offered the opportunity for such. Would YOU step into the alien ship? Would you be achillies. [his own king] Would you, be a just king.? None, live life without mistakes. Achillies makes one great one.. And this defines his life, and its end. If only we all could do such, instead of the endless litany of small conscious eating errors we cant seem to learn from. My children know the names Achillies and Hector.. I am Mitch, in Dazed and Confused. I tink that is his name. The baseball pitcher who got paddled after the game. This same thing happened to me in my transition from jr high to high school, and so many of the other events in the movie I was involved with. I swear, if I didnt know better, I would say Dazed and Confused was written about me, as I can identify very closely with everything in that movie, and I was in the same time frame, maybe one year later, as the movie itself
