But I can't eat, because I can't go upstairs to the kitchen (im in the basement) cuz my mom is in the next room
and i think she knows im high and I can't leave the room cause either she'll talk to me and maybe notice i'm high, or search my room and that is worse.

all I have is some teryaki turkey jerky and a christmas cookie from christmas that's been sittting in my drawer.

    and edible lipgloss. =\

my mom and my aunt are talking about me in arabic...
i wish it didn't matter. it's not like i'm hurting anyone or have the chance to get caught cause I was in my back yard.

whoa whoa, that's a bit extreme.

this thread is pretty old by now, but I would recommend that you plan ahead and bring munchies to the basement before you get high in the future. failing that, just go upstairs and get some grub. weed can make you a bit paranoid, but they're not really going to care about you. keep your responses to a minimum, and if they ask, just tell them you're feeling tired and/or not so well.

jimmy shes a kid for crying out loud. time to pull her socks up and put her mind into reality and see who shes hurting . Not that hard to think about .

    Shes not gunna starve.
Lying to the parent is the worst thing you can even do
OPEN communication can under lie how boundaries are set and if you don't like that your parents and aunts or uncles and cousins don't like you doing it -obviously that means your doing wrong -correct!

I agree with fricknfrack. But I'm also a parent.

So maybe my moral standards and ethics don't compare to the teen "lets have fun and only fun and not grow up"

You guys act like because you're young all you can do is enjoy yourself. Like nobody really expects you to do anything else. Proove to them they're wrong, and make something of yourself and your life.

Just bring food to your bedroom before you get high.

who is she hurting? no one, that's who. and no, she's not going to starve, but she's got the munchies, so why not indulge?

and even if the whole family and the whole world doesn't like you doing something, doesn't mean it's wrong. as long as you're not hurting anyone, you should be able to do what you want.

of course, you think lying to your parents is the worst thing you could do. which makes any opinion of yours pretty much irrelevant, as far as I'm concerned.

what do I care what someone expects me to do? why should I care? since it is, in fact, my life, why should I do anything for any reason other than my own? why would I worry about proving anyone wrong if I'm happy in my life? I'm sad for you, you seem to have this attitude that life is such a worry when, really, it's an adventure and the best decision one could possibly make is to enjoy it.

right jimmy- by chance do you have children? If not than i see where your coming from. But i'm coming from a parental point of view and if you don't like that ,, thats your problem you have to deal with.

Thats like me saying sure go out in the middle of the road and don't come back.
No ! I take things like this seriously whether its a big thing or little. I'm sorry your all for it and you like the fact a 15 y/o is having a dose of reality. If she cannot stand up to her parents and say Hey i'm doing this this this this and this .. obviously she hasn't really communicated well with family friends etc. As people teens are supposed to look up to, you just don't say hey Yah high 5 man !!

    but thats just me .

Just because she disagrees with her parents doesn't mean she's the one that's wrong... She may be young, but she does have a brain and her own thoughts and opinions. Sometimes parents don't give slack when it's needed. I'm not saying sneaking around is always the thing to do for any given situation, but I grew up with parents that wouldn't give a fraction of an inch. In this case, it's just pot. It's not like she's having unprotected sex, or doing something harmful to herself. So as far as I'm concerned if someone told me I couldn't do something that I don't believe is wrong, they can suck it. She's at an age where she's able to make some decisions for herself.

okay thanks for your concern, but
i'm not hurting shit by smoking weed.
if i was shooting up heroin in my room every day then i'd feel guilty.
but i'm not putting myself or anyone else in danger by smoking weed.
i'm 15 but i wouldn't call not telling my mom i smoke weed a "dose of reality" i might be young but ive been through shit so i'm not like some dumb little girl who thinks it's cool to smoke weed.
i hide it from my mom because she disagrees with it, mostly because i've been caught one time and she doesn't want me to get arrested, and just because her opinions are different than mine

i've tried communicating with her, she's tried communicating with me, we don't agree about it obviously most parents don't and that's cool i'm not gunna rub it in her face that her daughter is a pothead but i'm also not going to live my life for anyone else

and ps. i have started bringing munchies to my room now :D

    What?

Are you saying I should tell my parents that I've done ecstasy and LSD, for example?

This is the parent in you talking. You lied to your parents when you were a teenager. I know you did.

you're not coming from a parental point of view, you're coming from a biased and ignorant point of view.

fact: no noe has ever died from smoking marijuana. it's not like your example at all.

it is sad that you never lied to your parents, and take life so seriously. teenagers are supposed to develop lives of their own, and it is, in my opinion, unnatural for a fifteen year old to tell their parents about everything they do (and plain stupid telling them about something they strongly disapprove of, especially when that something is illegal.)

glad you've learned from this terrible ordeal, paperplanes :)
