Wondering when the plants will start to reek?
Going to germinate and start growing indoors until it starts stanking up my closet then going to plant outside in a safe spot, but im wondering how long i should grow indoors because i dont want to get caught and it might even be better to grow outside (room + lighting).
I don't have any strong, good lighting in my closet just a reg 60 watt bulb and a lamp im gonna put in there too, but when will i have to put them outside either because of the smell or not good enough conditions?
    thanks

smell strength during growth depends on the strain. I've had strains that I could smell on the sidewalk outside my house and I've had ones that I couldn't even smell when I was in the grow room. You can detect a smell during month 2, when the plant surges in growth, and the smell continues to escalate as the flowers ripen. The smell really comes out when you dry the buds though.

As for new seedlings, if you have weak light in your closet they could stretch to the point where they struggle to stand up straight on their own, which might cause them problems once they get outside.

when you say regular 60 w bulb, is that fluorescent or incandescent? cuz only the fluorescent will work (they look like little coils). I'd recommend getting at least one good fluorescent (cfl) for each seedling. So if you're growing 5 seedlings, have at least 5 strong cfl's around it. Less light when they first break the soil, then move the lights closer as the leaves grow.

You can get those lights anywhere, but there will be more selection and higher wattage at a home depot or lowe's. With enough of these lights you can grow a full cycle indoors, but it's a pain. HPS lamps are the best; I ordered mine from Insidesun.com for $100

yeah i was thinking of buying some good lighting to get them going, its just i have to plant em outside once they get too big to be noticed or start to smell, right now this is just an experiment before i move out during the summer.
I just want to get them started growing inside then transplant them to a good spot outside. Do you think they will be able to handle the transition from indoors to outdoors?
But yeah thanks for the advice man.

yeah, that's usually what outdoor growers do; start them inside then transplant them outdoors. for that, you would want several of those cfl's around the seedlings to keep them bushy and strong. it prepares them for their outdoor life. you could move them outdoors when they have 4 nodes or so, but you can give them more time.

i've never grown outdoors, but i'm sure you'd want to have your indoor seedlings under the same light schedule that the sun is currently doing. if the sun is out 16 hours, your young indoor plants should have the same sixteen hour light schedule. then once they are outside make sure there's no city lights that will shine on them and the sun will flower them when it's time. outdoors is a whole different game I don't know much about it, but many growers have said that their outdoor buds are the best

by the way I have a theory that if you start your seeds in a large pot, they have a better chance of turning out female. I get pretty good female ratios by giving the seedling root five inches or so of soil to bury down into as it grows. then you won't have to transplant it until you take it outside

    alrite man sounds good,
thanks a lot for the help. I'm going to plant them in big pots so i wont have to deal with transplanting, the sun schedule is a good idea too, forgot about that so thanks again,
hope to have some flame in the near future.
