    Steve Hillage.
I just got 'L' and it's an amazing album. At the same time I found out a song I had been looking for, for a long time called 'Electrik Gypses'. I heard it on 'The Young Ones' when Neil becomes a police man and all his friends are having a party, Steve Hillage is on in the background. This might not seem so amazing to anyone else but it is such a great album. I recommend it.

My ex has this cd and I was pretty amazed with it. He was really into Gong and got me interested. Guess he was good for something afterall.

Rock on dude, hillage is the man! I suggest getting fish rising, next. I've been a gong fan for a long time so if you have any questions I might be able to answer them! I've hung out with daevid allen a couple of times and have seen various gong family bands a whole loty!

Yeah Hillage and Gong are really cool but on a cautionary note as he progresses into the 80s Hillage started getting very electronic which for me at least is a shame as I personally cant stand that style of thing

I think his newer electronic stuff is pretty good, recorded under the name system 7 or 777.

Though yeah I do prefer his 70's material above all.

Make sure you get the first few gong almbums as well, or at least a good compilation.

L is a good album, but my favorite is Fish Rising. It was recorded right after Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth left Gong in 1974, after completing You, which is Gong's most important effort IMO. The whole Gong lineup (minus Allen and Smyth) collaborated with Hillage in this album, and they were all at their best by then. If you like L so much, get this one.
