Hello my brothas, first off I wanna say I have had a lot of experience with opiates in my life and would consider my tolerance to be pretty high. The reason i'm posting this thread is to get some insight from some of the guys on here who know their shit about opiate chemistry and the way different alkanoids work.

Recently I've grown very attached to the controversal "Poppy Seed Tea" that many claim to be a waste of money. I use a very basic extraction solution (warm water, citric acid, lemon juice and grapefruit juice) and generally use anywhere from 800-1000g of decent seeds at a time. The effects from this are undeniably wonderfull. I know it isn't the most efficient way to get your opiate fix but that isn't what this thread is about so please, I'd like to have a real conversation without the flaming.

*Now the First Question I have is about the water solubility of the various opiate alkanoids that are gained from the opium resin stuck to the exterior of the seeds:

-I've noticed that noone has brought up the fact that after straining the Juice/warm water combination through the seeds, you're also getting alot of unwanted matter that I'm willing to bet isnt the best idea to ingest.

-The best example of this is put the strained Tea into a glass container and set it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. You'll realize after this point that about a half inch of dirt and who knows what else has settled to the bottom of the glass. Now this entire time i've been using a straw to remove all the liquid above this layer of "crud" and have only been drinking the liquid.

-I'm assuming that since all the opiates I can think of are usually very water soluable, i THINK i'm just throwing out "crud" and not any alkanoids that have settled along with it (or just negligable ammounts).
Are there any usefull opiates that would be settling to the bottom along with the dirt?

*The Second Question is if all this unwanted matter is JUST dirt and other crap, do you think taking the tea solution and running through a water filter (like a carbon brita water filter) would allow all the liquid solution and opiates to pass but would catch this unwanted matter. OR, would the filter also rob the tea of a majority of the opiates as well?

-This may seem like a pointless question but assuming this does cleanse the tea... this raises the possibility of drying out the tea and obtaining a dried substance that is actually pleasurable, unlike the dirty substance that most of you say is nothing but crap.

-If this isn't the most efficient way, what other methods of "cleansing" the tea solution would you suggest?

So to sum it up... Are all the wanted opiate alkanoids completely water soluable and aren't part of the non-soluable "crud" that settles to the bottom of the glass? Secondly, could the tea get run through a carbon water filter to clean it without robbing the tea of it's wanted substances? Or, what other methods of cleansing could be used to obtain a more purified solution?

**Lastly, on a personal note... Is there anyone in the San Fernando Valley area in Southern California that knows of a place to buy GOOD poppy seeds in BULK. I've found a good source of 450g containers for around $5 at "Smart and Final" but haven't found anywhere that sells in bulk. I know most of you will say to just get the Pods off the net but I really feel that if done correctly, there's a good way of getting a solid solution from just the seeds which are much easier to obtain (especially in the US).

this thread gave me a lot of info: http://forum.poppies.org/index.php?showtopic=10089&st=0

There are still alkaloids left in the dirt at the bottom, albeit not very much. People usually re-extract it on or two times. From what Ive read, a cold water extraction is more efficient. I tried a cold extraction, and I dont really notice much difference, but I left some parts out. My tea didnt settle the way everyone says it does, just a small layer after a day. Im wondering if some factor is different for me, perhaps the waters too acidic?
