Most of us old people quit all drugs except for weed, between the ages of 24-30. It becomes no longer worth it after that point. However, I may eat a roll for the first time in about 3 years this summer at the All Good Festival. And I did a line for the first time in 9 years, just two months ago. I'm sure I'll dabble with some shrooms at least once over the next couple of years. So you see, even after you get old, you can partake in the festivities on occasion. Of course moderation is the key, regardless of your age.

I'll be rolling very nicely at allgood this year. I only roll at festis , it makes the roll much better when you only do it once or twice a year.

yeah I would guess that a lot of people over 30 quit their drugs of choice because of preoccupation with the drug or binges then dry spells and other erratic r'ships with the drug and the ups and downs just mess with their inner equilibrium so they ditch it all and become straight laced members of society and tell younger gens how bad drugs are when all they needed to do was be moderate and not use the drugs to escape reality but to get more in touch with themselves and to unite with others in a spirit of brotherhood.

if you treat drugs as an ocassional sacrament or a rare luxury, to be celebrated and shared, you can function fine and won't get bored with them and will use them again despite age. if the majority of the boomers had done that they might have maintained the root values and not become money hungry in the 80's, etc. drugs can keep you grounded. if used in moderation they can actually curb greed and lust for power

obviously I can't base any of this on personal experience as I'm not yet 30, so you might call me a pompous ass; it's just how I perceive it

this is hillarious. what age should you stop taking MDMA? wtf? you -shouldnt- take mdma when youre young, but as for old.. youd have to be pretty damn old to be fragile unto drugs - the older you get, the more stable your mind is against change, until you get so old that your brian starts to deteriorate

Well, the body and brain of a 20 year-old are obviously more quick to recover than those of a 50 year-old (on average), but other factors like mental stability, physical health, and your personal body chemistry play a bigger role in determining when or if you should start/stop taking drugs. Since they affect everyone so differently, there is no uniform "age" or other factor that can be given for stopping the use of any drug. Just my $0.02.

Thats kinda like asking what age should i be the first time i eat X? .. or honestly should I do X at all? There is no absolute answer to this question. The best advice I can give you is do what you want .. but use moderation. You have your whole life ahead of you, there will be plenty of time for many experiences. I think where people go wrong Is they tend to go ballz-to-the-wall (and yes I am guilty too) and then by the time you "think" it is time to quit it is already too late. You are already frizzle-fried! There is no reason why you cant do X a couple of times a year and enjoy the experience it has to offer .. you just have to keep in mind that it eats holes in your brain and you can over do it as well ;)

it can cause problems if abused, but the eats holes in your brain thing has been discredited multiple times. E does not eat holes in your brain.

Well then how do you explain this 3 pound hunk of swiss cheese in my skull? .. haha j/k. It probably doesn't actually "eat holes" .. all I really meant by that is judging from some of the people I have seen, taking X too far can cause some serious cognitive problems. I even know one guy who ate way too much molly on a consistent basis and he ended up losing about 95% percent of his sight. That shit fucked with his vision bad .. now he can only see shadows/shapes ect. I don't say this to scare anyone off at all by any means .. trust me .. I have my fun too. The only reason I want people to know this is as an example to show that it CAN be taken too far. Just have fun and be responsible with it. Its not so much about when you should quit completely .. more so about learning to practice moderation.

i had a friend take X everyday for a month and a half until he started to go crazy. He said there was two voices in his head screaming at each other, so he went to rehab. Just dont over do it like that.

Well the kind of people you guys are talking about are idiots. E really isn't even that addicting at all. I 've never heard of anyone losing their vision or hearing voices, the most I've seen it do negatively is just make people slower and stupider, and thats after eating it everyday for a few months.

The risks of MDMA- from a quick search:
Basically- and age that these "risks" become more dangerous for you individually is when you are too "old" .

I agree with previous poster, it really has nothing to do with when, and much more to do with how much/often.
I think it best in small doses, as a rare occasion roll, spread out over years.

I'd of thought the more sensible question would be 'At what age (if at all) should you take MDMA?'..

so many young'uns (and im talking 13-15 yr olds) are filling their minds with toxic chemicals which they have no knowledge of.. ''if it's a pill with a cliche E logo on it, we're in''.. with that kind of mentality, is it any wonder why so many have ruined themselves? Is it any wonder why in this country alone (and particularly my town), the Ego's are higher than the clouds, the 'group/gang(ster)' image is always increasing, the attitudes of young people are often atrocious & the will to keep an open mind is practically none existant?
I'm glad I no longer fit into the class of people that 'live for the weekend' by shoving disco biscuits down my neck. They just make you ugly on the inside and a wreck on the outside. There's a whole lot of ignorance surrounding those that indulge regularly; pursuing the 'magic' desperately while not giving a thought to the possible mix of psychoactive chemicals apart from MDMA that produce similar stimulant effects. Personally, I'm thinking MDMA in it's crystallite form is the only way to play it safe, and even then you'd do better to know and trust the person you're dealing with.
    Jibs to pills.
