Sounds like your situation sucks balls. But yeah, cant get on your case due to the circumstances. Its ganna be hard to get an appartment without an adults name on a lease. Im living by myself this summer, and even with my parents name on the lease most people wont rent me an appartment. But yeah, deffently get a college degree, didnt realize you were planning on doing that.

I have a friend that's doing the same thing. He's 17 and living in an apartment working 40h a week and going to community college. If you do well in community college you can get into most colleges because you've proved that you can succeed in a college environment.

 

Idk if i were you i'd find a friend to have an apartment with.
but idk about where to live. like keep looking online and trying to find a place and in the meanwhile try to meet as many people as possible to make connections.
I almost dropped out and got my own place and I made friends with this person who's uncle owned an apartment building so he was willing to rent me out one.

hey Xzei how much money do you have saved up? Usually a really good way to get a place to stay is to pay the first 6months of your rent, this shows them that you will be good for the money. However, your biggest problem is that you have no prior references, so people don't know if your thrust worthy or not. Also people may be leery of having a 16 year old stay with them. If you have a job then you can maybe ask your boss to help you out. There are resources to help people find a place to live, usually they are provided by non-profits and the gov, you should seek them out.

 

So lets see here...you can go and complete highschool for FREE and continue to work and save money/pay rent, and get good grades and possibily a scholarship

OR..you can go and PAY for community college, which the credits are not transferable to any respectable college's, and you will end up paying for 2+ years of community college, and then have to re-take all the entry level courses in whatever college you transfer to

and im sure by then you will have given up on community college, or decided you'd rather work full time then split time between school and work

things might seem all fine in your mind, but when the time comes none of your plans will get followed up on. IMO you have not thought this plan out nearly enough and your going to severely fuck yourself over in the end.

I don't know about where you live, but some of the community colleges around here have apartments that they rent out to students and it adds on to the cost of tuition.

 

I don't know where you got your info from, but community college credits do transfer to 4 year colleges, not every class you got credits for will, but at least half or more than half will transfer over.

Think about the men who had the greatest influence on the world. Who were they? Did THEY graduate their equivalent of high school? Were they rich and succesful with a secure job? Come on... Wasn't it Muhammed who never learned how to read or write? As well as Baha ullah, and The Bab? Jesus had no job. Ghandi lived off offerings... these people obviously don't know what true success is, and are basing it on your personal finances.

Before you decide what you want to do... decide what you want out of your life. If you want to have a blast and party all the time with great posessions and belongings... stay in the shitty school, suffer now, and party later... if you want to use your life for more important things... you don't need to waste your time with the social norm of school, although I'm sure you'd get alot less shit from everyone.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with simply not finishing high school, and going off and spending your life on spiritual necessities that you don't need to waste 12 years in a school that doesn't teach you what you really need to know. Be a thinker, be a leader. It doesn't matter.
Just keep in mind that what you do now affects your entire future, so you better not be planning on being a U.S. president with your G.E.D. but that doesn't mean you can't live life to the fullest and spend it with The Creator, and be a blessing to everyone you come in contact with.


You guys who are telling him he will "never" be succesful are dousche bags. Completely inconsiderate, and ignorant towards his life. He knows what he can do, and its real easy for you to tell him to stay in school when you guys are living your own mediocre lives completely uninvolved with his situation. How succesful are you guys? Ease up, and give him some real advice. He doesn't need to be told he won't be succesful. He's completely aware of how uncool this situation is.

Make sure you know what you want to do after all this is figured out. If I were you, I would personally go the extra few years to school. It certainly will suck, and I wouldn't want to, but atleast I can be sure that I won't be broke at 30 just wishing that I had went ahead for those extra two years.
But, if this were happening to me, I'd simply say fuck it, and find a really cool guy somewhere soon, (I'm in Texas) where I could just work on his farm for food and a bed. not a great life, but great for thinking and getting closer to God... if you're into that. there are plenty of nice people out there that will surely understand your situation. You just gotta be lucky enough to find them.

Man all that matters is you meet your definition of success. Where do you want to be? Do you want a million dollars? I dont. It would be nice but im not willing to be the bastard it takes to get up there. Just live life how you want to and make enough to be comfortable. Its all gravy if you can manage that.
