    Oh, you edited your post! forget what I said then, lol ^^;

    I'm new to this lifestyle as well, so I'm not the best authority to give advice. I too would like to hear more about the maintenance. I am hearing many different things and it would be nice to have things set straight. I have been told to ignore it and the roots will somehow get sucked into the knot on it's own.

    There is no maintenence. All you do to 'do' them is stop combing your hair, or at the most backcomb once at the begining. Then just wash with non residue shampoo and stop fucking with it. You'll learn patience if you havent already.

    well noyt entirely true
    there is 1 thing highly recomended to avoid 1 massive dread
    wether u backcomb or just allow rthem to go natural u want to keep therm clean and residue free (use dr bronners or simular..no wax no products just clewan hair)
    as clumps form or after u wash if u backcomb seperate them..pull them awayu from eachother ripping the hairs connecting them at the roots

    thats all
