wut songs do you think are the most overplayed on the radio? my number one is: One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer- George Thorogood then Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald- Gordon Lightfoot (I listen to Chez 106 in Ottawa) anyone else?
I once read a review where someone said "Gordon Lightfoot continually sings like he's having an orgasm at the top of a Canadian mountain peak." Can't say he's very overplayed here though. The listen to my CDs 99%, but when I listen to radio I notice I'm hearing John Lennon's "Imagine" alllll the time.
really I rarely hear John Lennon on the radio, lots of Beatles but theres lots of variety to choose from(actually Give Peace A Chance is on right now) ... Hahaha yes gordon lightfoot does have a funny voice
yes holy shit ac/dc is on alllll the time. there was also one time where all i heard was van halen for awhile
man, down here in tennessee... 105.9 outta nashville plays the hell outta skynyrd, .38 special, and boston. but there most played song is that bob seger 'turn the page' bullshit. like 5 times every 3 hours. i hate long rides in my old man's radio only truck.
badass song though, but yes...overplayed fuckin radio takes a good song and i end up hating it since i hear it like every hour.
The OP was asking for the most over played song, not band (although it does seem that when you hear Foghat it is always Slowride). In the early 80's, it was Nena's 99 Red Balloons that was overplayed. In that it is really good song, it was a shame to burn the song out. I am with you on the Stairway complaint. Here in Tidewater, Virginia, we have 106.9 the FOX on fm radio. When the station debuted in 1988, it was one of the best stations ever, playing deep cuts from the likes of...yep...Foghat. Those days are gone now, probably because of the later DJ's not very familiar with the classic rock artists. Our last vestige from that era of DJ's is Arlo. He's still hanging around. - JKHolman
