hey, I've just discovered that Levi's has a line of eco friendly jeans. What is your opinion on that? would you purchase these jeans? why or why not? Furthermore, when purchasing non-eco friendly jeans, what do you look for? thanks - ital lady c
http://www.levisstore.com/searchHandler/index.jsp?searchId=19569223041&keywords=eco nevermind. but hot damn. 70 bucks.
I didn't see any indication of where they're made-except that they're imported. Also no indication that they are made by workers who are treated fairly. So, not likely.
everyone who wants to sell anything is going to have to make some pretense at being eco-friendly. doesn't have a whole lot to do with whether they are or not. consumer pressure to at least try to appear green is a good thing as far as it goes, but its inevitable that the profit motive will seek to find ways to keep up appearances while cutting every corner it can. =^^= .../\...
70 bucks for jeans isnt eco freindly when u concider the impact on the environment of earning the extra $ recycling used jeans is far more eco freindly wouldnt ya think? how much inpact do non eco jeans cause and the eco ones cause how much less and why? or is it all just a label to justify the extra cost?
Just another way of the "man" gettin kind folks to buy thier shit. I is WAAAaaay more eco friendly to to the thrift shop thing. I guess it's good to be acknolwedged, but all the "go green" stuff has spread like wild fire and there are of course ppl out there only for the almighty dollar..we get taken advantage of. I'd have to be fucking crazy to pay $70 for some jeans..
