The first child is your precious angel who can do no wrong ever. The last child is well, your last so you want to keep them a baby as long as possible. The middle child feels like they are not special for anything and so they act out more, thus getting yelled at more. It's called middle child syndromn. That didn't really happen in my family, but it's just the dynamic... I think it takes a lot of effort on the part of the parents to separate the middle child out, because if you think about it the middle child is more likely to be involved with the younger and the older... there's more trouble for the one in the middle to get into... in general, of course.
