    Hey all

Anyone here like The Flaming Lips?

They're easily my favorite band of all time.

Ditto here. I bought "The Soft Bulletin" about a year after it came out. Knew nothing of the Lips except the video for "She Don't Use Jelly." Thought they were a novelty band, like They Might Be Giants -- which I'm not into.

Soft Bulletin blew me away. One of the deepest, musically brilliant, thoughtful, yet accessible albums I've ever heard. It makes you move, and it makes you think.

Then, they released "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots," which may even be a little better!

And their concerts are the most fun you'll have at a live show. It's like you're at Chuck-E-Cheese's on acid.

Hahaha chuck-e-cheese on acid. What's a chuck-e-cheese. I've got most of their albums after they signed with warner bros. except for 'hit to death in the future head' and zireeka. I'd love to get all of their albums when they were with restless records but i think those albums are really hard to come by, especially in australia.

I'm really digging Clouds taste metallic at the moment, it's just such a weird album with awesome songs. Weird in a good way.

Yeah, sorry about the obscure Chuck-e reference. It's a Midwest America thing. You take little kids there for birthday parties, and they have lots of balloons and confetti and these creepy dancing animals. Lips have pretty much the same thing, only it's weirder.

I've avoided Zireeka, only because it was made to be played on like 4 or 5 stereos at the same time. It's one of Wayne Coyne's projects. I'm sure it's cool, but I don't know if I can give it the effort it requires.

Clouds Taste Metallic is sweet, BTW. Pretty sure they're due for a new one. They've released a single called "I Was Zapped by the Lucky Super Rainbow" which should be on the new album. Can't wait for their tour. Have you seen them?

over the new album, i had no idea they were releasing a new album. That is awesome. Sadly i haven't seen them live, they were here in 04 and back then i didn't really know much about them or heard much of their music so i didn't bother. I've been waiting 2 and a half years for them to come back but so far nothing. Yeah zireeka is a crazy concept hey, i've seen fearless freaks and the footage of them in that car park with all the fans with beatboxs and stuff. I have complete faith in whatever wayne does as weird as it may be.

Much love for the Flaming Lips! I saw them live at BDO 2004 and they were amazing. I do wish they would play some of their older stuff live though. The last three albums have been really good, but 'Hit to Death in the Future Head' is something special. Looking forward to the new album.
