I experimented unsuccessfully with a piercing a couple of weeks ago. Although I never actually got a piece of jewelry in the hole and it seemed to heal up the next day, there seems to be a "phantom itch" thing happening. It isn't really an itch, but more of a slight tingle. I never thought to have sensation in the skin I pierced (never noticed it anyway), but now I get these tingles all the time. Is this going to go away? I at least need to pierce again to even it out because I'm walking in circles now. I get scared thinking that maybe not everything was sterile. Or, is it more likely that I just pierced a nerve that is still upset?
yup you got a nerve and they don't get upset, they get damaged and they don't heal cause they don't regenerate.
I feel like fresh piercings/ wounds of any kind have a bit of an itch/tingle to them... ...something like the feeling of skin healing if that makes any sence. My piercings have all felt a little itchy while healing, not to mention just cuts or scraps...maybe your just not used to having that kind of sensation from within your body in that way before... I don't know though
That was just some sarcasm there. In case anyone is interested in the condition of Mr. Tingle, he's back to normal...
