i would have to say pine tree pine cone buds...they're very high in vitamin C... i would like to try haggus sometime...
I don't really eat weird things. Chicken liver is oh so good. Alligator tail is a little weird. Rattlesnake is kinda rubbery.
We used to eat chicken hearts all the time as kids, I never liked them. A lot of cow tongue too. Other weird things? Some insects, cats, dogs, alligators, exotic jungle creatures, Big Macs, and so on.
Lots of different types of insects, chicken's ass, live baby prawns, raw beef soaked in blood, snake, BBQ goanna, roasted field rat, amongst other things. I will try anything once. All of the above, though are extremely delicious. One of the strangest things that I've eaten was in Italy, in the alps. I had these small gelatinous cubes of raw cow nerve-endings soaked in lemon juice. Gross. BTW Jerry, haggis is fucking great, especially with mashed potatoes and parsnips, washed down with a pint of stout.
yeah, ive been wanting to try haggus for a long time now...i guess its the scottish blood in me...hehehe...
Not so much the food but the reason I ate it. A ate a whole onion for a free can of coca cola at our school sausage sizzle when I was in year 8. Don't see why, looking back on it as I had enough for a can in the first place.
alligator tail is chewy and rubbery, i didnt like it. mighta been the preparation though, hard to say as ive only had it once raw squid and raw octopus... mmm sashimi weirdest was probably chocolate covered insects though. ants and bees, i think, were what i ended up eating my dad does make a damn good goat barley soup though. mmmm, goat my favourite non-grocery meat (not that weird though) has to be wild duck or goose. my mom used to make it sooooo good, baked with tomato sauce, hp sauce and bacon. god, i havent had that in years, its so freaking delicious
well i once went to a restaurant with my family in vermont (i think) it was called the wobbly barn and i eat elk, buffalo, and ostrich. the best was the ostrich, buffalo is good 2, the elk was just too bland. last week i eat a night crawler for $5. i didnt chew it though jst swallowed it whole. gross
I figured some of you would make me jealous with the weird stuff you've eaten. (And somehow I knew Red would be one of them.) God, I have so many things left to try!
Chicken hearts is GREAT. One of my favorite all time foods. P.S. Cow tongue with mashed potatoes and warm cow blood as gravy is also great.
weirdest? hard to say. off the top of my head, I've eaten swordfish (yum!) raindeer, whale, frog's legs.. nothing too yucky, but I know I've forgotten a lot of things. like red, I'll try anything once or twice.
What does reindeer taste like... I ate grasshoppers once, they were crunchy and pretty tasteless really..At least to me they were...
