First of all, I will be growing outdoors. I went to my local garden center today to look around and get an idea of what I would be using. There was almost too much to really know what to choose from.

Schultz liquid plant food (anyone have any experience with liquid plant food? Does it replace a fertilizer or should they both be used?)

    Home Gardener Organic potting mix

Home Gardeneer Seed Starter (which is soil to be used during germination seeding period. Should I bother or stick to the same mix I will be using once transported outdoors?)

Should Peat moss also be added to the mix?

Chemfree critter Ridder (keeps animals away)

Garden Fungicide (to keep fungus from forming on buds)

What do you think? Are there some products which seem useless? Am I missing other important products?

    Thanks,

    Here my man: http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139965

and really go through the MJGuide tutorial. http://www.mjguide.com/

    and if all else fails:

Try to keep it simple. Chances are that unless you are in Seattle or BC where it just rains and rains you won't need a fungicide. Look for a time release nute - bloodmeal bone meal something like that where you can "fire and forget".

Soil can be anything potting mix with perlite or a bale of promix.

Thanks Bill, you've been really helpful with all of my questions. What I'm still wondering is whether something like Schultz liquid plant food replaces fertilizer (you add about 7 drops to the plants water while watering) or should it be used along with a fertilizer.

Also, would potting soil not include everything needed? Regarding perlite, peat moss etc..

You want a time released fertilizer where you will be set for the season. Look for a 10/10/10 or similar.

Potting soil typically is just sterlized and screened. Nothing added.
