I posted this on another site a while back and was wondering if anyone here had any input or experience with what I am working on. Please forgive the SWIMs!

SWIM has been testing the effects of Grapefruit Juice on opiates (specifically Norco tablets)for the past week with what seems like some considerable success, but in an effort to lessen any possible placebo effect tainting the experiments SWIM has devised the following method.
SWIM purchased 14 (at 25 cents US each) small round toy containers from a local supermarket vending machine (I’m sure the clerks thought SWIM was some weirdo middle aged man with a little plastic ring fetish! – SWIM is also sure that the long rain coat, false beard and sun glasses didn’t help either [IMG]). SWIM plans on (now this is the part SWIM needs help with) creating 14 parachutes – with 7 containing 5mg of Hydro (crushed Norco) and 7 containing something of a similar weight and feel.

SWIM will mark the bottom of each container as either H or P then place either the Hydro or Placebo in a marked container. Each day for a week SWIM will draw a container and consume the contents along with following the same GFJ dosage at the proper time (same times and amounts each day). SWIM will then like to place the empty containers in some manner that would allow SWIM to know on which day it was used (without looking at it or being able to tell if it was H or P). Along with that SWIM will try to follow the same diet and activity patterns each day, all the while recording (keeping a log) any perceivable effects of the dosing. In this way SWIM hopes to be able to tell if any effects of potentiating by GFJ is either a real effect or just a placebo reaction.

Could any or the very sharp posters on this site be able to spot any holes in SWIM’s plan? Any suggestions at all? Also any suggestions on what should be used in the Placebo Parachutes?

Thanks so much and SWIM looks forward to sharing any and all results of this test with our community.[IMG]

p.s. SWIM is not this poster just someone this poster may know – this poster would never be caught dead at a grocery store children’s toy vending machine in a raincoat, beard and sunglasses!![IMG]

shouldn't taking the opiate be a constant, while you either take juice or a placebo? it seems like your experiment is to see if opiates potentiate the effects of juice, and I damn well know that it does.
