This is most likely a fatty tumor, but I know you will keep a close eye on it until you get her into the vet to have it checked. Don't worry, since I have a feeling she will be just fine with your guys observant care!
My dog has a fatty tumor in that same vecinity where you have described your kitty having a lump. It's getting bigger but it does'nt seem to bother him at all. I just don't have the kind of money it takes to get it checked right away, but if I see that its causing him discomfort, I'll definately figure something out. I say wait and see what happens, but try not to wait too long in case if it is something serious. Does it act as though it bothers him if you touch it?
These kind of lumps are common in older pets, but your pet is still young. However the others are right, it COULD just be a fatty tumor, a fat deposit. But, I would keep a close eye on his health and then take him to the vet ASAP! As soon as you have the money, just to be sure.
Please do not wait too long to have that lump looked at, pixieewinged--I'm sure it's not anything serious, but you just never know! My cat Regan had a lump on his neck--it never seemed to bother him, but it bothered me, you know? Anyway, it turned out to be cancer, and he died in August this past year (Regan was 18 years old)! I don't mean to sound pushy, but I just don't want what happened to Regan to happen to your cat--I want him to have a long and healthy life--so as soon as you've got the means, get that boy of yours to the vet! You'll both feel better in the end! Peace!
she right they are common but its your kitty your worried about. I remember the first time I felt this under my dogs fur. and I was just as worried as you,, you love you pet and wouldnt want nothing to happen to it.. but if its tiny and never gets bigger its nothing to worry about and as long and your always paying attention to your pet, i dont think it will be in any danger since youll be keeping a close eye on it.... much love to you and your Kitty.
Thanks! I just worry every time I hear somebody say they found a lump on their pet--I'm sure that in most cases it turns out to be something harmless, but that's not always the case! My sister's dog has a lump on his side, but I think she told me it was a fatty deposit--nothing to worry about! I hope that's the case with your cat--that it turns out to be something harmless!
