I am a young Muslim, completely against the war & the politics behind it,
yet somehow I find myself joining the Army as a Medic.

My main purpose is to save lives,
yet somehow I can't get over the fact that this seems like a very out-of-character action.

I think i watched a true life when a muslim guy joined the army, if that's what you wanna do go for it don't stereotype yourself and not do what you wanna do .

You're saving lives, I think that's the main thing, think of it as dampening the losses from the war. Rather than supporting it.

well, that's how I've been trying to rationalize it.

still- I don't know how I would handle seeing this shit the army does to my brothers over there...
kind of makes me a little sick inside,
but like you said- I'm not supporting the war,
I won't even have to shoot a gun
(hopefully I won't ever have to make the decision about firing on fellow muslims)

I just don't like the idea of people dying because of the crap going on,
and with my medical knowledge I think I could help

It's hard to get over that feeling that muslims will look at me as a traitor.
