What's the law on discrimination on grounds of sexuality in the workplace? I know you can't discriminate per se but if colleagues are giving someone a hard time because they are gay or bi what does the law say? What would manager have to do?
The law don't apply to us. It's sad, but somebody could fire a gay guy for the simple fact that he's gay. Basically, the law don't do shit for us. It's all Reagan's fault.
I doubt it. This is the land of the free and home of the brave. If it ain't right here, there's a slim chance that it's right anywheres else.
There is law against it here in the UK, just wondered about personal experiences as I'm having a hard time.
Whoaaaa whoa whoa whoa. That's not necessarily right, man. There's plenty wrong with the US that's right elsewhere! For instance, the medical system? Don't get me started. But whoa, isn't that a wee bit closed-minded? Perhaps you should look at legislation on things in some other countries? I mean, look at gay marriage. It's legal, in some form, in just about all civilised first-world countries...But not in the vast majority of states in the "land of the free and home of the brave" (http://gaylife.about.com/od/samesexmarriage/a/legalgaymarriag.htm). Anway, don't want to start a fight; just thought I'd point that out.
Oh, and I don't know about homophobia at work. To be honest, I'm scared of anyone at work finding out, let I be fired, or ostracised, because my bosses are fiercely religious. I'd rather not go down that road. It's so sad that it has to be that way. At my last job, my boss found out, and she was alright, although she did ask a series of fairly awkward questions. Just out of ignorance, I think.
Well, pardon me for being a patriotic American. When it comes to being right, if you were to look in the dictionary, the definition of "correct" is the United States of America.
Honey, aren't you 15? You have alot to learn. But you will...maybe when you're 75 like every other "patriotic" homophobe who spent the majority of their lives hating others.
