I've looked at several other threads about washing and have learned a great deal, especially the "deep cleaning concoction" But I'm not quite there yet; I'm still in the pre-dread stage because my hair isn't really long enough. (7 inches or so) I've been massaging with a wool mitten and stopped washing with shampoo and there are definitely some little dreads popping up, but I wanted to dry out the hair more, because I'm afraid the oils from my head are preventing the hairs from dreading. At this point, my hair is half dreaded....half curly fro?!? As it gets longer, I want to do all dreads. Anyway, are these pretty OK ingredients for a soap to clean my hair?
    -saponified organic palm
-coconut, olive, castor oils (not sure about these! EEK)
    -organic cocoa butter
    -tea tree oil
-non-GMO tocopherol (not sure about this either! EEK)

thanks for the help. sorry if this was answered already somewhere else :/

Not sure about the ingredients, but 7 inches is certainly long enough for dreads. My hair is about 2 inches and my whole head is locked up. Good luck and cheers

Dr. Bronners! Tea Tree works great. I prefer the bar soap, rub it in your hands and get a good lather and wash your hair with it.
Also try sea salt spray after your shower. It will help a lot. Or if you can go to the beach often too, that's a wonderful way :)

    best of luck to you

    Non-GMO tocopherols:

non-GMO means no genetically modified organisms were involved.

tocopherols are antioxidants, more specifically Vitamin E

Dr. Bronner's liquid Tea Tree Oil soap contains:
    -water
-saponified oraganic coconut and olive oils
    -organic hemp oil
    -organic jojoba oil
    -organic tea tree oil
    -sea salt
    -citric acid
    -vitamin E

Your soap seems ok to me. It has several of the same ingredients as Dr. Bronner's and none of the ingredients sounds "unnatural" to me.
