^^ Wtf?! She's choosing to have sex, therefore she needs birth control. It's her choice. It's not your place to tell her, or anybody, that they shouldn't have sex. And it most certainly is a right!

I was just ranting bc they made me cry on the phone.

They were being mean people...and I was sad.

I go through planned parenthood they helped me get on medicaid.

I mean Im going to figure it out rather I have to deal with medicaid or not Im a 20 year old women and if I want to sleep with my boyfriend of 5 year I can. sex isnt only for procreateion thats why there is birth control. If stoped having sex just because I wasnt trying to get preg. I would be giving up RIGHTS that women have worked for to not just be used for breeding.

and that’s not what I was bitching about.
I was complaining about how hard government agencies are to deal with...

and dude...you don’t make a lot of since...it just sounds like you wanted to someone to grip at about not having sex. (your post was totally irrelevant based on what I was really talking about i.e my bad day)

and I dont understand how since I take my pill everyday not having sex would fix my problem...can you explain that? If this doesnt work Ill just give up something else to pay for it. I dont get how not having sex will fix the fact that people at the medicaid office made me cry.

I have to agree with argon partially, in that..yes, sex is a privelege...especially when one's birth control is funded by American taxpayers. That's why you have to jump through so many hoops to get it. And, sorry to tell ya, but birth control is not a medical necessity, which is what Medicaid is supposed to pay for...it was never meant to fund recreation, which is in essence, what sex is, particularly when it's NOT for the purpose of procreation. Consider yourself fortunate that you are getting benefits at all...I am a medicaid biller at a hospital, and the patients I deal with for the most part have much better benefits than I do...all for free!! I pay around $400 a month to insure my family. Sorry to rant back at ya, but I just have no sympathy.

I was just talking about them being mean. Like the people themselves being rude...I dont mind the paper work I just dont get why people dont answer questions better, and treat you like shit when you call.
its womens health medicaid its made to pay for birthcontrol and obgyn(btw)
My parents pay taxes so technically my family does pay for it.

    lol past hurts...
I had a bad day and they made me cry...
your a whole lot of pointless drama.

"I have much more going for me than just sex."
What do you mean? I just meant you wanted to play daddy and gripe I could care less about your sex life.

'If you dont have sex you wont need birthcontrol"

Do you know what a week long period feels like? Do you know what it feels like to not be able to get out of bed because of cramps? Thats the first reason Im on the pill. You do realize that we need the pill for other things right? I choice another form of birthcontrol if I didnt need this one.

In some cases, the pill is a medical necessity. I was put on it at 16 to get rid of very large cysts on my ovaries and keep them away.

And bitching about taxpayers paying for birth control is retarded. Would you rather your tax dollars went to fund nine months worth of prenatal appointments, a childbirth, and subsequently health coverage for an infant?

yes, theres a variety of birth control out there
how many teens are actually educateda bout it though? at my high school we discussed condoms andthat was pretty liberal - we didnt talk about any other birth control save to mention its name. most schools in the US (or so i hear) teach abstinence only sex 'ed' which means that those kids dont know what to do to prevent a baby when their urges over take them.

So should I assume that you are currently practicing, or practiced, abstinence until marriage?

It is her RIGHT and HER CHOICE to have safe, consensual sex, if she is above the age of consent. Not yours. It is her RIGHT to have access to safe birth control.

From the rest of the sane world's point of view, the current state of access to birth control and abortion in the USA is fucking scary. WOMEN'S rights are being taken away from them. Your seeming support of this disgusts me.

Whether she has sex or not, and whether she has access birth control or not, is absolutely NONE of your business. If you want to continue trying to force your opinions on others, feel free to go elsewhere.

She asked for advice... not judgement.

i completely understand how difficult it is to get medicaid and the stress that you go through just to get it. hell i've been waiting a whole year to be "qualified" for medicaid. i had to fill out the application about 8 times because they kept losing it each time. then when they finally process the app they would tell me im not qualified i would get angry and ask them how im not qualified i dont work i dont have a vehicle so how am i not qualified and my kids are. so hun i completely understand where you are coming from.

and to whomever is going to tell me to go get a job and stop mooching off the GOV. keep your comments to yourself i dont want hear any of that BS,

Huh, this is weird. Must be a state thing? In Florida here birth control is given free to people under 18 depending on the parents income, and even then it's not that high. They do not take insurance here at Planned Parenthood, I wouldn't think Medicaid either (although I could be wrong)

I was insured under my parents healthcare plan when I was a teenager, and for the birth control pill and the yearly exams we had to pay out of pocket since they didn't accept health insurance. Irritated my mother because it made it much more expensive for her at the time.

can't you go to a clinic and get free birth control? all i had to do was make an appointment (which wasn't even necessary actually, just makes it quicker), fill out one page of paperwork stating my sexual history and income (no proof required) and they tested me for STD's (free) and sent me on my way with a bunch of condoms, months' supply of the pill and like 10 morning-after pills. oh, and i am over 18. you should look into something like that... yellow pages...
