If you are already married what were yours .. if you want to get married someday do you have any idea what you might want to say? Traditional.. Writing your own...Say whatever comes to mind? I wrote mine and now I'm having second thoughts. I mean he already knows how much I love him and why... I'm a dork that way. Very expressive about my positive feelings, and I guess the vows I wrote just well they seem corny... too simple... We've been through some tough times as some of you might know but we have overcome all obstacles and that's something I want to thank him for and let him know I'm confident that we'll be able to keep conquering any problems that we might come across...(be honest about your opinions.. here are the vows I wrote, I think you'll see why I'm not satisfied) John... I have put more thought into trying to write these vows then I can explain, you have given me so many reasons to love you it's almost impossible for me to keep this short. When we first met I was in a very dark place and you taught me how to shine again. Showing me that it is not only ok to dream of a better life but that it is possible to make those dreams come true. When I was younger I imagined love to be like a falling star, so full of passion and beauty but I didn't realize that those stars burn out and until I met you I had no idea that real love grows stronger with each passing day. I am no longer scared of what life might bring... with you at my side I feel like I can take on anything. You complete my Heart... my Life... my Family John my love, Thank you for giving me all that you have and I will do everything I can to try and give back to you the happiness, love and understanding that you've given me. I will Love you through this life and beyond. I am yours.
We wrote them as they came to us and exchanged them... there was no erasing or changing our minds, we wrote, exchanged, read, cried and then jammed together, it was perfect!
We just did traditional. We actually put very little thought into our actual wedding. We've been married almost 23 years now. You're vows are really lovely. Is he writing his own vows too? Will yours make his look-um-less than great? You don't want that!
writing something together sounds cool too... wanna give me a quote? He is and he doesn't want to let me know beforehand but we have to email them to the minister performing the wedding and he's not very computer friendly so maybe I'll get to see them tonight I don't have any real expectations for his vows but I guess I'm a little worried because he says he feels like we've been married for the last two years so does that mean he won't have much to say? eh... now I'm getting butterflies There is only going to be like ten people there but it's at a local park a very busy park (too many onlookers) ugh..Oo *nerves*
We did the traditional, but looking back now, I think we both kind of wish we had written our own! Ahhh well, gives me an idea for our wedding anniversary. We've been tossing around the idea of renewing our vows, having a nice party, all of that. I think it would be fun. We'll be celebrating our 10th next year, maybe it would be a good time to do it then? Anyway. I think writing your own vows is extremely romantic, and I like the ones you wrote. Anything truly meant from the heart is beautiful.
I think those are beautiful words. It's so much more personal when you say your own words. As for me, I've no idea what I'd do... I don't have marriage perspectives yet anyway...
If the world does end and hell does freeze over, than I will be getting married... His vows will be: I will obey you... That is all...
Haha, Mitten you know me too well... Top of the mornin' to ya'...<-- I think I am going to start saying that phrase now, hopefully it's an 8 on the annoying scale..
Haha...that is awesome and made me laugh...I would love to see the faces of the people you annoy today.
Haha... They would look like a combination of these.. +=... You could also use this as the forshadowing of my wedding night
lol @ I will obey you hippychickmommy I think the tenth anniversary would be a good one to renew your vows... seems it's worth it just to celebrate getting past that seven year itch thingy....My past relationships have ended at around six years... and by the way nice seein ya, nice pictures in your gallery
We're getting married June 23rd and are doing the typical love honor and obey kinda thing. We might write our own in addition tot hat, but are undecided.
we went super-traditional. i always feel uncomfortable hearing people's personal vows. it's ... well... too personal.
