I think I remember (haha!) some one bringing up the idea of wandering theaters at the gatherings to help teach and get the word out...

 

Actually, No most havent. The Old, Poor, Road & Plain Rainbow has NO or Dial-Up ISP's meaning:

well youtube may not reach every1 text based web is accessible to alot and it certainly would be worthwhile to transcribe these sessions into text based posts wether its a site a thread or an agr discussion

Idot, huh? sure! just a " babylon well meaning folk"...im sure you dont know me, but if you meet me you'd know i was more than whatever trumped up insult that was! aLot of the rainbows i keep in contact with have myspaces and are young. i was making the suggestion about the newbies & the new generation of people being turned on to the rainbow through the recent popularity or, but i guess i was thinking of the wrong demographic.
I wont blab at you, but atleast what dirty momma does is proactive! Its really big of you to complain!

Just defending myself , but i do agree that flyers would go along way!

 

i agree with turnup,bringing flyers into the woods is simply puting a extra burden on the cleanup crew,come on everyone knows what he said is true..

as far as the myspace pages or facebook etc..

i have serious issues with "rainbows" supporting corporate data mining sites.

i think if one was to pursue the online aspect of education they should do it independent of the corporate data tracking sites..

 

weeeelllllllll, first off, I have never thought that it was pro-active to force folks to wait for their supper. The distraction of being hungry isn't conducive to the information actually being processed.

Flyers at a Gathering? As if there aren't already enough paper issues with the tufts of toliet paper under trees. I just don't think it would be effective, if folks aren't reading the mini-manual in the Rainbow Guides then why would I believe that they are going to read a flyer?

HHB, I use MySpace & I'm a Rainbow, not a "Rainbow". I don't have anything to hide & if Rainbow is a non-organization open to all, then it shouldn't matter if info is up on a corporate or private site. I certainly don't expect that everyone is going to use MySpace or Facebook, but if folks are already using the corporate sites, then I feel that it would be irresponsible not to utilize those networking sites for important info, like the raps.

Involvement-folks working front gate with smiles & raps; folks doing trail-side theater to entertain & educate; folks being ivolved to make the Gatherings better.

Yeah, I'm on MySpace, but how much data do they have on me that is actually real, and how much is smoke I'm blowing in their faces? Sometimes not even I know for sure.

 

As usual, you pour the vitriol on a bit thick, but ol' DM does go on, doesn't she? I recall a couple years ago at Lake Mary the held supper hostage reading some rap about the proper way to construct water bars---like that's an issue in Florida the Flat!

 

well turnup,cinnamon ya know we love you guys.. i just feel hypocritical enough even using the internet at all,or any other modern convienance for that matter,much less supporting someone like rhupert murdoch who lives and breathes everything i am against.

as ive said ive always had a issue with the intenet and rainbow going hand and hand since it all began(the internet thing).and the whole rainbow myspace is somewhat like the amish starting a myspace page..

it just gos against everything we are taught IMO.

to each his own though i guess..
the way i see it,with the events that will soon be upon us within 24 months this whole discussion will be mute anyway..

i personally recommend the family worry about how everyone is going to stay clothed and fed in the coming years rather than how is the most efficient way for the masses to view raps.

 

Yeah HHB, I feel hypocritical 'bout using the net too; over the years, I have griped as loud as anyone about agr & about the directions to the Gathering being posted on Welcome Home. I was taught that the words of Rainbow are spread by mouth alone & I see all the changes that have taken place at Gatherings since the directions first appeared on the net, and most of them aren't good IMO, but still once Pandora's box has been opened, you can't close it or Hope won't have a chance to get out and smooth the rough edges.


JuJu had a great idea for getting the raps out at Gatherings...Burma Shave signs! Lots of folks read the pained Rap Banner than has been to so many Gatherings because it's wonderfully decorated & is bright & colorful...do it on a larger scale and give each rap it's own design, set them up along ther trail like the old Burma Shave signs.
