Hi, Hi'yall. My 49yo brother just moved to Narre Warren just outside of Melbourne. He's lived in the United States all of his life previous to this. He'll be getting married to a Aussie next month. I'd like to know from any U.S. expats here what they'd most like to find in a box delivered from the 'States'? I'm thinking 'gift' type stuff that may be hard or impossible to come by in Melbourne. I'm not making any unkind presumptions of remoteness. If it were reversed I'd be asking the same questions about Aussie specialties unavailable in the U.S.. Anything come to mind that just isn't locally available? I live in Michigan. Maple syrup? Leather mukluks or moccasins? Smoked Salmon. Lee Iacocca's autographed rants about the auto industry? Jacks and colored pickup sticks? Nascar caps and tees? (Ohio n'Kentucky are just south of us after all). Labatt, Molson, or Moosehead beer Propeller beanies? Vintage Corvette hubcaps or... the red triangle reflector off the back of an Amish buggy? (or ideally, something at least a little bit useful) I'd really appreciate any advice And thanks for the forum.
I think any typically American produce would be appreciated. America has loads of stuff that isn't available elsewhere, as i don't have a clue what most of the stuff you mentioned is hehe. I am sure your bro would be happy to receive any of the stuff you mentioned (although maple syrup and salmon are popular worldwide and readily available). I suggest if he has a sweet tooth send him something sweet etc if he is big on cars send him hubcaps, you know him better than anyone else.
