Before planting your clones outdoors is it good to have your soil mix put into place in advance to allow it to settle - maybe a week or so?

Best soil mix to use for first time grower (nice and simple)? I would like to use only natural ingredients - no chemicals.

How big should I make the wholes? 1x1x2ft deep? Should I put garbage bags in the wholes before putting my soil mix in? If so why? (seen people do this but don't know why).

Is human hair good enough to keep animals away? Know of any good organic substances to keep pesticides away?

Finally, what organic nutrients should be given to the plants to help them grow?

Off to do more reading/research! :)

You can do the soil when ever you are ready but it is less obvious to carry a box of clones and bags of dirt on different trips. Just in case someone is watching.

Can't help you on the organic part - bat guano, worm castings. Honestly, the chemical nutes are fine and are not less healthy. The plant absorbs by osmosis only absorbing that which it needs just stop the nutes near the end of the grow. Organics can add flavor to the turpines but again grower's choice. Potency is already determined inside of the seed.

For pests Neem Oil from the Neem Tree is great.

Holes - depends on how good the soil is to start with. 3x3x3 will make for some great root growth. Grow bags can be used as pots.

Human hair supposedly works but I don't know. I had to put up chicken wire to keep the wabbits out of my veggies.

Sorry I can't help you out more but there are probably better people out there that can.

Look for a great thread by RangerDanger here on outdoor growing.

look up Ed Rosenthal's grow guide on Google.... you are going to have MANY questions as the season progresses.

Read that grow guide and learn from the best. Reap what you sow.
