    looking good man :)

If you backcombed them I really wouldnt worry about them falling out, because they will. Your hair dreads naturally when left alone, and even though you wanted a kick start they still somewhat need to do their own thing. I would wash you hair.... cause its hair right? you still have to remain clean. Just dont stress to much if they fall apart, it happens, many people here went through the same thing.

    good luck :)

    and keep us updated....

ps. remember to use soap that is residue free, soap that has fancy smells usually contains oils which will make your hair slippery, which isnt really what we are going for.. is it?

They're probably sticking out cause their knottin up close to the scalp. Just throw a tam on and that should press em down a bit. Good luck and cheers

ahh interesting do u got bronners?
the bakin soda might be lil too much for general use till they tighten lil bit
but for 5 weaks fairly natural theyre lookin cool...
wash em weekly or so, goive em a vigerouse shake and seperate em often and u should be good
bein thickjer tho they may hang weird till they grow a lil

Yes, Dh shampoo will work great. Actually I think it would work better in the beginning since you won't have to rinse so much. Cheers

wow you got that result without back combing?
    nicely done man, very impressive.

but wash your hair, even though it losens up from it your hair will dread faster clean.

like people said, you should probably wash it every week or 2, whenever you want. Clean hair actually dreads faster than dirty hair, so it's prolly better to wash often in the beginning. And they probably will fall apart a little when you wash, but they will start to knot up...it's all part of the process. Mine does the same thing. Oh and they will start to lay down more when they gain a little length. Looks like they're gonna be phatties!
