I think you can understand this song just by reading it. I wrote it poorly in a matter of 5 minutes, but it has some of the best lyrics I've written in it. I'm always spontaneous (spelling) because that's when the best poetry is written. If it is really thought out sometimes it can seem like nothing more than words on paper. Something's gone wrong with the world today Something's gone wrong with society Nobody cares about anything Nobody cares about lyrics I sing I still wake up every morning from where I lay Open the curtains, sun shining through the day The birds are chirping, but it's supposed to rain without disarray this world would be plain Half of a day gone wasted, because I wanted to sleep in I even set my alarm clock early, but turned it off again Something's gone wrong with the world today Something's gone wrong with society Nobody cares about anything Nobody cares about lyrics I sing But I still get out of bed every day Wash my face, and turn on the TV Throw on my shoes, and mow the lawn This day goes on and on and on and on
'Something's gone wrong with the world today'... a line worth building on! Why don't you work on particularizing this feeling. Let us see a broken world through your eyes.
rather good. i like the feel...but this is rather similar to the song living on the edge by aerosmith...
I noticed the similarity in choice of words, but art is built on influence of others, and poetry is art. It's been used yeah, but it was the feeling I had at the time.
