As if it would even have a chance of ever getting to that point. Frank himself said a couple months back that this was just to get it out in the open and that's it. It's not being legalized in his lifetime.

whether or not it will be passed... state law still stands... if your state laws have penalties for marijuana you can still be convicted

That'd be awesome if it was past, but unfortunately it's unlikely. I don't think I've ever wanted to be wrong this badly before.

Nah, the real problem is when it's the Federal Government that overpowers the State Law. That's how they were able to nab those harmless Medical Cannabis Patients.

It's rarely a problem the other way around, it's the Federal Government that's always the most Draconian with Drug Laws.

none... because if i stand correct... i think the federal law took bigger interest in marijuana laws during the GW Bush era.. a couple years back... when more states were trying for better decrim laws then federal government came in and said.. well even if state wont convict you now its a federal offense and the government can still convict you for marijuana charges no matter what state law said... now if this is passed power will be given back to the state and medical marijuana patients once again can be safe from the feds breaking into their houses or med banks

We have to start somewhere. Get the feds off our backs and then the states won't have an excuse to keep sending people to jail. It won't clear both houses until after the 08 elections, Bush won't be around to veto what passes.

Sent my letter. I know this won't pass, but the more our reps and senators hear from us the more likely they will be to come to our side. Even if your underage or doubt this thing will pass please send a letter so at least your elected officials know how you feel. They are representing you so make sure they represent you correctly.

I believe that I read on normal that they want to change it so it isn't a federal offense so states can do a fucking thing, or Am I lost?

I'm going to write a paper letter this week to all my massachusetts congress people - all of em I can find! way to go barney frank! I've heard that congress people so rarely get paper letters that they count for a whole lot. You can even send a letter written on paper from a spiral notebook, & if it's written by hand, it coutns a lot.

It's gonna happen soon. In fact, in the future it is legal. Get the picture?
