Aright guys just for something new and interesting (because I'm getting kind of bored of reading the same old threads around here) I'd be curios to see what different kinds of scripts people have. What I mean by this is if you feel comfortable stating it, tell what kind of pills you're prescribed and how many each month. And if you feel like it maybe even state what your ailments are. I've always just found it fascinating to see the different prescription mixes for different types of chronic pain. Also I think it's interesting to see how strict/leanient doctors are in different areas. So anyways if anybody would like to share... I'd be more than happy to read. Oh and P.S. I actually am not prescribed anything, but instead am just a an avid recreational user who has a keen interest in amateur pharmacology.
I get 16 - 10mg oxycontin every 4 weeks. not much, and it took the neorologist about 7 months of experimental medicine before he'd give me the goods. he said he'd increase the dosage sometime. it's for chronic headaches, which I now believe are mostly a chiropractic issue, and a successful acid trip knocked out a lot of the headaches just from the mental cleansing and recalibrating. the trip also put oxys into perspective; I no longer put them on a pedestal and I try to trade most of the oc's for other unattainable drugs like E or L.
really? you cant figure out what L is? theres not that many drugs out there that start with L, and the one hes reffering to is pretty common. give it some thought.
I get 60 OC-40s and 180 norcos for daily break through pain, thats a 30 day script. I take 1 oc in the am when I wake up and 6 norco through out the day, depending on what my BTP is like that day, I rarely will use all my oc's because I have good mornings and bad, on a bad morning I will chew half an oc for quick relief.I try to never go over whats prescribed so I compinsate by breaking up the oc's and this will usually give me a few extra at the end of the month,I know its not alot but I will still go into WD if Im not careful with my script, I cannot stand WD so I do the best I can, sometimes even taper down when I know Im going over the limit. It sucks that the state laws prevent most docs from writing what you actually need instaed of what they feel comfortable writing. I have severe chronic spinal stenosis and two blown discs, all four of my lower lumbar are pretty much shot, add some arthritits and periphial neuropathy to that and you have pain.LOTS of pain! If your still curious have a friend whack you in the back with a baseball bat as hard as he can then take a branding iron and put it right on your lower back,it feels kinda like that! just fascinating, isnt it?
200 MG OC Daily makes me sane. along with a bunch of 5 Mg Oxy caps for break through pain. Hey Painfree2day I totally agree.
my doctor has significantly reduced my monthy prescriptions over the last two months, but there was a time when I was getting 60 20mg OCs and 180 10/325 percs per month... god I miss those days. now i'm down to 30 10mg oxys per month and 15 5/325 percs per month. i've been using poppy tea for the last two weeks of the month since I routinely run out after half a month. -V oh and to Pillsverydopeboy - I agree, we need either some fresh blood on this forum or else some more interesting posts from the old hats. Relayer, Jahred, where are you?!
Well Iv'e been seeing my P.M Doc for 2 1/2 yrs. and been on the same meds.If done right your tolerance won't go up to much. 90 Oxy 20's 200 Norco 10/325 every month And when my back acts up I switch to 150 10/325 Percs for a month and then go back to my Norco's
Oxyrisin: how do you prevent your doc from trying to wean you off the narcotics? or do you just have a pretty lenient doctor? I'm working on getting my PM managed effectively, because currently my prescription isnt even CLOSE to enough. -V
it might be an age prejudice. an er doc told me that since I was younger I wasn't as likely to gain access to pk's. kinda lame, but it might be why your doc wanted to wean you down
Burn, I think you are absolutely correct about that. Its dumb because I actually HAVE a chronic pain condition, and have had to resort to semi-legal activities to manage my pain because my doctors underprescribe me. good insight though -V
I was totaly honest with him. And he is cool He told my when I first saw him that he will manage my pain. He gave me some tips 1. Don't come in everyother month High as fuck and tell him they're not working anymore. 2. Don't Doctor shop. 3. And just be honest and not Bullshit him.. He said he hates when patients come in and tell him they're not working, Yes tolerance goes up but not every month. (Only when Abusing) When I first saw him I just got out of rehab for Meth(smoked) He asked me how I felt about it. I told him It was something I got caught up in and feel alot better now. My reg. Doc was giving me 90 7.5 vics a month and he asked how that was working, and I was honest and told him I maxed my daily dosage and ran out a few days early every month, because I wasn't getting relief. And told him then I would suffer. He believed me and even just out of rehab he gave me 200 Norcos and 28 Oxy 20s a month then 6 months later I saw him again told him they were working just fine but once in awhile I ran out of my Oxys a few days early because they work better, He said well you never have called in early for them,Why? I said I just suffered with my Norcos,(he liked that) and now gives me 90 20s a month. See I'm 43 and I told him I didn't want to much because what will I do when I get older if my tolerance is real high, then what will I do. (he liked that answer to) He kicks people out all the time for abusing. And I play it calm.. Lets face it what I'm getting everymonth is not bad at all. And I don't want to ruin it. Feel free to ask me anything else PEASE See when you ngo in asking for more the Docs see right through that. Their other patients do it all the time. And then you look good when you go in and not asking for more all the time. I will see him in 2 months and he said I will be ready for an increase again then. I let him make the decisions. YEEHAA
I see your not getting enough meds. Well you need to just be straight with him at first and see what he gives you. And if he won't up them to what helps you go to another doc how will. I love my Doc and have turned 3 friends on to him and we all get great pain relief
Oxy, That is exactly the way I've been dealing with my doc. She makes the decisions and I don't give her trouble. I have let her drop my dose consistently for the last 4 months because that is her policy and the way she does things, and the last thing I want to do is be always asking her for more when she at least is helping me out better than any of the other non PM docs I've seen over the course of my treatment. Anyway, I have been just biding my time the last few months, dealing with poppy pod tea and other shit to manage as best I can, hoping that in another month or so I can tell her (truthfully) that the doseages she is giving me are not enough and that since I have been so compliant with her she will believe me and help me out. She is actually a pretty chill doc, and I really respect her, as she has turned me on to some other helpful things for some of my different kinds of pain. But I agree Oxy, if she doesn't help me out and raise me to a reasonable dose again in the next month or so, I may be forced to go and find a PM doctor who will be more sympathetic. Thanks for the insight, and if I move to WA I may ask you for a referal. I am from Portland, OR originally, and have spent a fair amount of time in your area. I recently applied to a couple of graduate schools in Washington. Goddad College in Port Townsend and Seattle University. So who knows! I might be sending you a PM in the next year or so asking about the area! Thanks again, -V
Anytime bud. The PM Doc I saw before him was an ass. I went in and he asked what he can do for me, I told him I was looking for someone who can treat my pain. He looked at me and said I will treat you but you are nothing but an addict. and I will not give you any Meds.He knew nothing about me. I told him to take his bill amd shove it up his ass.. And walked out. What a prick. Ya sorry to hear about your situation. Your doc sounds cool but a little scared to treat your pain. PM me anytime if you have any questions PEASE
i think its really fucked up that the dea is scaring these doctors so much that their affraid to help everyone who really needs the shit.
My PM doc was giving me 180 Norcos,30 -10mg valiums, and 30 soma a month, but I cant see him any more. My girlfriends PM doc,she was seeing him for about a yearand he was giving her, 180-15 mg roxies, plus 2 bottles of liquid oxicodone hydrochloride (each bottle was 30 doses of 20mg per dose),and 30 soma she stopped seeing him for about 5 months and just started going back now, he just gave her---60-15mg oxicodone, and 1 bottle of liquid(30-20mg doses),15 soma, but that is only for 2 weeks.she went to the same PM doc office but her normal doc was out sick,so when she goes back, her normal doc should bump up her meds again. She has rumitiod arthritis, carpel tunnel and, something else I forgot. I just started a new job and should be going back to my old PM doc when I get some more cash.
My GOD PEOPLE! I assume these are pain management docs you're seeing? I have no clue what to say to get ANYTHING--tried the menstrual cramp thing (which is actually true and very debilitating; have caused gastritis in myself and had to go to the ER for taking so much Ibuprofen), but other than that, I don't know what to say. My knees swell and ache, and my neck is always hurting. I have scoliosis in my lower back...so the pain is definitely there, I just don't know that docs will think it's legit enough to warrant the occasional hydrocodone or Tylenol 3. (See? It's not even like I'm looking for fucking oxy or morphine! I only take the recommended dose, have never been in rehab or anything! All I can figure is that I'm a 24 year old female who they don't take seriously...it sucks so bad.)
