and puked somewhere around twenty to thirty times...and saw a huge pod of dolphins, and feel like crap.... But I did it. Sometimes I amaze myself.
Did you puke from exertion? Or were you sick or hung over? Oh, and, congrats. Kayaking is so amazingly peaceful.
now that's something I'M impressed by and envy. not the puking of course. i did WALK 25 miles one time, in less then six hours at that. my feet were very unhappy with me, and i was VERY glad to get a ride back. but dam, it was worth it. things like that just about always are. you see, feel and experience things you never would otherwise, and most people, pity the loss to them, never do. that and the time i was working out on the desert and singing with the coyotes at night. those are times in my life i'd never trade for anything i can even begin to imagine. certainly not the kinds of cleche's those who try to make everything begin and end with little green pieces of paper want to coerce everyone into expecting to be gratified by. sure makes me wish i was living back up in the hills i grew up in, that i only get to visit once in a while anymore, even though their only 30 miles up the road from where i live now. water's never been my thing, but i can sure see how it would be for someone who that was the kind of naturalness they were more familiar with. for me, its little winding trails through forests along the sides of mountains. but anyway, i'm happy for everyone who gets a chance to do something like that. =^^= .../\...
I've seen a few people get seasick in the kayak paddles I've done. It doesn't seem to bother me. It feels like the amusement park rides when the waves are higher. .
I get really bad motion sickness and the swells were well over 6 ft at times... My muscles aren't sore today since I kayak four or five times per week anyway, but it was definitely an accomplishment.
Nope, I didn't flip over, though I almost DID tip myself over when I was vomiting at one point. Luckily my best friend Jen was holding my boat steady for me!
