I recently was sent a video telling me about this "artist", Habacuc. Last year at an art exhibit, he tied up a dog and starved that dog TO DEATH. All of these "art lovers" stood by and watched, actually accepting his misery and death as ART. This man is NOT an artist, he is a monster. If he was an artist, then he would be able to create misery with paint or sculpture or SOMETHING that was not the actual dog! But this is not the end of the cruel story... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that it was actually art, so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008!

I don't know much about the subject, but I am more than willing to take this guy down if it is so possible. There is a petition against it, which I will post a link to, but aside from that, if the petition does not work, I would love to find out where this exhibit is, and save the animal, and get the point across that IT IS NOT ART. It is animal abuse. And wrong.

EDIT: Also, just going off of jneil's post, does anyone know it PETA is actually INVOLVED in this? If not, I'm going to have to extremely agree with him.

Seems to me that this guy is a big pussy for sure!

I'm not sure what artistic statement he was supposed to be making, but if he wanted to make some kind of point he should have starved himself, not a defenseless puppy dog.

It looks like this took place outside the U.S.; I doubt he could have done this here in the states with our animal cruelty laws. If I ever see him here in Colorado, I'll kick him in the balls!!

Of course not, this would never be a thought in the US.

But I think there should be something done right away! Personally my aunt and her friends are going to help me think of something to do. I had wanted to go to the exhibit and stop it right away, but I don't have I passport and my grandmother said that it would take over three months to get one...

There has to be something we can do though. I know it.
