A lot of people truly like them, also on these forums. The fact most heavy metal lovers don't like them doesn't mean they suck. I can even see why their music is so enjoyable, although I don't share that opinion myself. It's just a different kind of music, people. Who cares if they suck or not. There were already at least two threads about this band by the way.
this guy who i went to school with was listening to his cd player, my friend asked him what he was listenin to and he was like, just some heavy metal stuff im sure you dont listen to, n she was like what is it and he said "system of a down". i just burst out laughing. they're not heavy metal.. not in my opinion anyway. atleast, they dont have that hard edge to them that would have permitted him to say somthin like that, if u listen to em great. nothing to be arrogant about htough, they're kind of mainstream..
their a good band(their old stuff anyway), youre not alone, others have a taste for the bizzare as well. as for the nay sayers forgive their ignorance.
i like the song toxicity and chop suey and suga was good too. they're different...but i wouldnt say brilliant by any means. i can listen to them in small doses, but other than that...they dont do anything for me. not a fan of serj's solo crap too...doesnt sound any diff than SOAD. but ya know...whatev
SOAD happens to be one of my favourite bands...and that is in part because of Serj voice... i like the way they are both angry and funny at the same time...it's like they don't take themselves to seriously Maybe that is why "true" havy-metal fans don't like them...
