My Lady, I have seen sweet sorrow encounter your sad eyes,

Labouring tears and tardy sighs renewed,

And pain unmoved scathed my breast.

Love proved fatal, long the auditory of my woes,

Heaving in grief, in sweet dismay.

But when our lips beguiled in loves vein heart,

That sweet kiss once fair, now deep and dread.

Awakening from a tearful rest that scorns my cheek,

As some tender words versed move me with tears,

But these words essayed make me weep pale despair from my eyelids.

Night bandits have stolen the light from your bright eyes.

Now loves darkest tyrant beholds your gaze.

I bid you farewell, and must let dear love yield,

But still my heart will always win a breathless tenderness for you.
