Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. Last night I was thinking how alot of people hate bad trips and if it's ok to combine a benzo. such clonazepam with, let say, a psychedelic such as mescaline without causing extreme negative effects such as a very potent synergy? What I'm trying to say is, if one combines a benzo. and mescaline for a smoother and anxious-free trip, does either both of those substances potentiate each other to the degree of a possible o.d.? Reason im stating this is since clonazepam is very dose sensitive(down to 1-2 mgs), it wouldn't be fun if mescaline potentiated 1 or 2mg's of clonazepam to 10 or 20mg's or vice versa. No preaching please. Thanks in advance.
Usually people keep benzos on hand in case of a freak out, but I wouldnt recommend taking them at the same time. Benzos dont combine well with psychedelics, but they will mellow someone out if they're having a bad time. If youre worried about a bad trip, think about your set and setting. If you plan shit out well enough theres no chance of a bad trip.
Yeah don't use the benzos unless you need to, as some people report a slightly diminished sense of psychedelia, as a result of the benzos. You won't OD or anything though. When it comes down to it though, I don't guess you should be tripping if you can't handle the possibility of a bad trip. Afterall, sometimes bad trips can be more beneficial than good trips.

Yeahhhh. Save the benzos for the comedown/to sleep after it's over. I could only see them diminishing the trip and destroying subtleties that would otherwise make the trip unique and fun.
I still think it's best if someone lacking experience with a psychedelic like mesc. or lsd,etc to take some sort of anti-anxiety agent. We wouldn't want some one "psyched" out of their mind run outside and hurt themselves or others surrounding him/her. Then soon after that person gets the concept of what a mesc. trip is(or any other chem), they can omit them and have a trip without consuming any type of anti-anxiety agents, unless they start "freaking" out or for the comedown/sleep like Geneity said. how about weed for anti anxiety? if youre so anxious you need pills, you probably arent going to have a good time.
Weed might or might not work. True, if you're anxious you prob. will not have a good time. Even if something, such as a psychoactive, causes people fear, it still will not stop them from using. Hell, people in the 60's didn't abstain from using LSD even with its capability of causing a bad trip. So, it's best to take precaution at first or if you're unexperienced and take those pills if needed or any other measure necessary in order to successfully accomplish your goal, which is triping(desired trip). It's kind of like someone interested in riding a roller coaster as a result of its attractiveness even if the person associates it with causing a bit of anxiety. That person will still ride out that rollercoaster even it causes anxiety, but once your body adapts to the "ride"(trip), it'll be easier for you to "ride"(trip) it next time.
I think you got your answer! I'm with most of the others who responded I wouldn't take them together. I think that the benzo. would diminish the whole psychedelic vibe. I would keep them for after the trip, take them then smoke maybe it'd help you process all the crazy thoughts you had while tripping. Once again like others said I think it would help someone calm down if they began to have a bad trip. In my opinion you'd be able to handle your next trips better after having a bad trip
i took a klonopin on 4 hits of acid 1 time so i know its safe. it was one of my last intense acid trips. i smoked weed with it. was very lazy for 12 hours, hallucinated a fuckton.
