The horse belongs to a circus and they let him stay behind his fence outside in the open as it was a beautiful day.
Actually, he looks very happy, healthy and well fed too, while the look on his face is simply perfect! The other case in point being that he is probably safer in his own large area with the fence affording him great protection from any hazards in the city.
that looks like my lacoda! he looks pretty happy...like he needs a nap, but nothing a little pampering wont fix. unfortunately i'm sure he won't get that where he is
I strongly disagree with anyone who would assert that european gypsies or european circus animals are mistreated any more than they are by the general population worldwide as a whole. It is important to note that there are many humane groups who keep a close eye on these circus people as compared to the humane treatment of animals in well renowned Zoos with presupposed professionals or even private individuals for that matter who claim they are truly looking out for their welfare of the animals in their care. I have seen the results of people who purchase 20 acres or more here in the United States who throw a bunch of horses out on their land and believe they are nothing more than clay statues needing no more care than an occassional glance. I suggest you join either the American Humane Society or World Humane Society to become more informed on the truth of the matter rather than making blanket statements about circus people who the health and livelihood of their animals are the basis of their very existence. This is only my opinion, but any superficial internet or in person research would surely support my point of view and belief in the truth...
i do not believe that all people in a traveling circus, that is not at all the case. I do believe a lot of people do, but a lot of people think all "ghetto" people abuse dogs, and only have pitbulls for fighting. a lot do, but i did not mean to make a generalization, i'm sorry if it came off that way.
Nice pic, you look very pretty You look European? That horse looks really healthy to me it has a nice coat and looks well kept. I don’t really mind see domestic animals being captive they seem to not mind it much. The way they are bread they wouldn’t survive in the wild anymore. I do have a problem with things like tigers and monkeys they always seem so sad and messed up when they are captive. I live in a town that has a lot of hippies and circuses are illegal in our county. The thing that I think is weird about circus is the people there is some strange folks the follow the circus around and work for them.
I wanted to apologize to you PeaceItOut, since my earlier note of consternation was not directed at you, but at the couple one-liner trashing statements in this tread towards gypsies and circus people. The first circus I ever saw from a very youthful perspective, I could tell from the eyes of the animals I encountered that they were well treated and cared for, albeit, their circumstance could have been better, but then who in this world human or animal could not make the same claim. I find it quite the double-standard in the US that our county fairs can send a bunch of 4H animals off to the slaughter house at the hands of the highest bidder, yet we also forbid circuses from performing their ageless and compassionate profession. I do find it interesting though that a short distance away in Santa Barbara county (CA), they do allow circus people to exist and I discovered that the circus veterinary staff and the many outside humane group people keep a watchful on the welfare and treatment of every one of the animals. Anyway, sorry again for causing you or anyone a misperception by my generalizations too...
Thank you I am European, I live in Romania. The horses there are treated very well, they receive enough food and the owners are very kind to them.
