So, I've been doing using DXM for close to a year now and decided to try something different than Coricidin (because of the harmful ingredients it contains) so I researched and found out about Robotussin gel caps. Me and one of my best friends both took one bottle (20 caps). About an hour later my trip began, me and friend decided to take a walk and smoke some weed, the beginning of the trip was great I was walking around town and I felt like I was at home. About a hour and a half later we smoked more weed, and afterwards my high intensified extremely I had a very bad burning sensation in my whole body, it felt like my skin was just ripping apart, the hallucinations were amazing though. I had that bad feeling that something terrible was going to happen to me, I couldn't fall asleep. It was the first time I have ever gotten that feeling from taking DXM. Has anyone else ever experienced bad trips from robo gel caps?
Yes, my last DXM trip was bad (on gelcaps). I also felt a burning, but it was subtle for me, as though my body did not like dxm anymore, and I felt anxiety too, which I never did before on DXM. Strange . . .
The first time I ever tried DXM was via Vick's 44 cough syrup. (It tasted like shit and I'll never do that again.) One bottle of the stuff made my skin burn like hell. I haven't had that symptom ever since, though. DXM is a strange drug. I've never gotten extreme paranoia except for once, and I'd taken about 600 mg of the gels... yeah, 2 bottles. Most of the trip was amazing but there was one point where there were two cops sitting outside my house while me and two friends were smoking weed inside the house. I expected them to come bursting in and arrest us; I'd resigned myself to the fact that this definitely would happen. but it didn't.
no offense but sorry you cant get good psychedelics you can barley call dxm experiences a "trip" more like a dream. anyway, just grow some fungus its ridiculously easy and far safer. ive done dxm dont get me wrong, but i just feel like a tool everytime i do it, compared to good chemicals
so what if DXM isn't a "good" psychedelic, i like it and have done it more than "good" psychedelics. in fact i could've went with my friends who were getting a sheet of acid the other day but i decided to do DXM instead while they're out of town getting it and tripping. the thing i like about DXM is that its intense but it doesnt last that long, it effects me completely differently than anything else. its like acid+speed+opiates, i hallucinate a little, i feel speedy and move alot, i feel numb and good. to me DXM is just as much a drug as LSD is.
everytime this happens. people start trying to convert the dxm users. get over yourselfs and let people enjoy themselves how they want. now for what the topic is actually about. the gel caps never cause a bad experience for me, other than sometimes causing some nausea. but i havnt been using the robotussin gel caps lately, ive been using these ones from the 99cent store called tussin cough liquid gels. i think they cause less nausea and discomfort than the full priced robotussin cough gels. that burning sensation on your skin, are you sure its not just a flushed feeling? i think i get what your talking about, but its not a bad ffect for me. you could just be adjusting to taking dxm without the chlorpheniramine maleate, which is an antihistamine and has sedative effects along with antidepressant effects. this would make all your prior dxm trips tainted with a veil of calmness and tranquillity, even if it was minute, that you would have become used to and associate as the effects of dxm, so that when you tripped from regular cough medicine, the dxm was able to operate as it normally would and its effects that were masked or overshadowed by the chlorpheniramine were allowed to come out more. it is a different high when you dont take antihistamines with it. i know with other antihistamines they can sometimes cancle out the likelyhood of a "trip" and instead leave you feeling fucked up still, but as more of just a high than a trip.
