i love makeup. i love wearing the colors, the flamboyance of it, the technique of putting it on. it's almost hypnotic and soothing to me. it's a mental preparation, i can highlight my best bits, reshape my worst bits, and be beautiful. if someone doesn't like it, obviously they're not my type. so i'm not really bothered by it. i'm not nearly as pretty without it, so saying i'm hiding my natural beauty is a crock of shit. i look like a pissed off pioneer woman and not nearly as approachable. so some pretty colors and prettier features is the order of the day. still, have GORGEOUS skin, so i prefer not to cake it on.
I don't think so, though some prefer at least to have make-up with natural ingredients because of concerns about harmful chemicals, productions, etc. Personally, I feel it is a matter of self-expression- not necessary, but acceptable if you want it. I usually have a lot of fun with mine when I wear it, but I do so very rarely unless I have something on my face to cover up. Some peopl are are hardcore about being natural, though.
I used to care about makeup, but you get to a point in your life where it just doesn't matter anymore, natural beauty is something to behold.
I do makeup sometimes, but I really don't care how I look most of the time.... Usually when I do makeup I go all out, crazy eyeliner, usually even face paint. If someone wants to wear it, it doesn't bother me. It's not like I'll think differently of them whether or not they are wearing makeup... to each their own
you only use a bit of mascara & eyeliner....if its subtle, most guys wont even notice that your using makeup but will notice that you look after your appearance. i guess if u wanna attract hippies use natural subtle colors to avoid looking artificial..& grow some big bushy armpit hairs.....
i only wear a little bit like you i guess but my boyfriend says he cant tell the difference and says that i shouldnt but it makes me feel better so i do
ya lawlz, the only thing about make-up that freaks me out is the fake eye lashes thing. They seem to always fall off and it looks all weird. But I rarely see chicks without makeup, so I can't really say, I guess I just try not to think about it.
If a woman or a teenage girl has acne she should put someting medicinal on her face. Otherwise, I prefer a woman with no makeup, with the possible exception of lip stick.
You dont want someone who will only like you one way anyway. Do what YOU like, and youll find the person to compliment YOU.
And, what KC said. Since ever, PEOPLE have always been accessorizing themselves to look the way THEY like. Whether you wear fur and diamonds, maybelline and cover girl, or stretch your neck and wear face paint, man, thats a human thing. Just do what you like best.
i really dig those pictures i once saw of an african tribe that adorns themselves with plants and flowers, and plant based makeup, including the boys. it's so whimsical and beautiful.
When I lived in Hawaii there was always flowers in bloom everywhere and a lot of the women would pick a flower and put it in their hair a lot. It looked really nice.
OMGZZZ people wear makeup, holy crap this is so wrong people should not wear makeup that is horrible and I am going to throw up because of this... Who cares...When I got into an accident and my face got all messed up I was praising makeup... If you don't like makeup then don't wear it, but it's not wrong for people to wear it... And just as an aside I love the title of this thread for some reason it made me laugh more than once...
I'm an older hippy and I like chicks with makeup on. Not like a shit load but just some to bring out her high lights. I never met a hippy guy that didn't like a chick with some makeup on. So I don't get it. Peace
dunno. apparently the whole feminist movement to allow women to do whatever they like with their bodies does not apply to makeup and whether or not they want body hair.
I don't see anything wrong with adorning yourself. I never judge someone for wearing makeup unless they've slathered it on, and it looks ridiculous. Most women look just as good without makeup as with. I can't do makeup very well, and I like the way I look better without it, so those are my reasons for not doing it. I often put on some blush for color and once in a while maybe some lip gloss. I feel my face looks hard with heavy makeup on. I'm well groomed and clean, so I think that also counts for something. I don't care what anyone thinks about it.
To say "hate women with makeup" is way excessive--as though personal foolishness is enough to make me hate someone--but I wish women wouldn't do it. Feminism in its modern form came along right after the hippie movement, as some of us are old enough to remember. With some things there was some agreement, so you'd get acceptance of the natural human body, refusal to follow social conventions, and avoidance of expensive factory-made products. All fine things. On the other hand, hippies did use the word "chicks" and feminists hated it.
