My little brother and his class went on a feild trip to the court house today, and when he was telling my mom and I about it, something really bothered me. Apparently, they let the students go to the prison and look at some of the prisoners, and my brother said his teacher said: "You can tell wich ones are on drugs!" And then I realized those people were just a spectacle to them or something. Sure, some of them might have wronged others, or disobeyed the law, But they're still people, aren't they? I mean, everyone makes mistakes, and I'm not sure any of them deserved to be oggled at and laughed at by a bunch of seventh graders. They treated them like animals in a zoo, (And if this is how we're treating animals, don't they deserve better too? :'( ) It made me feel horrible for those people, and my mom and brother both just laughed at me when I told them what I thought.
yeah that is bad...really why would they have prisoners in a zoo...like some kind of animals exacally...i say we free the animals and prisoners..Is anyone else with me?
No. No one else is with you. People in prison are there because they broke the law. People who break the law deserve to be punished. Besides, you don't know why they're in prison to begin with. I mean, do you really want to free the rapists and child molesters and killer's?
I'm not saying we should free them, I know some of them really do deserve to be in there. I'm just saying, I think it was wrong that they let a bunch of kids go in and point and laugh at them.
=) It's great to be free. But I think 'secret_agent_amanda' was right, some of them are really dangerous people.
