Money keeping the system strong??!!

So I was having a conversation with my boyfriend about what may or may not cause the system to collapse, and he had made the suggestion that money will be one of the causes. His older brother butted in and said that money is what is making the world go around, money is why everything is strong and why things can survive, and without money, we would be fucked. In my personal opinion, money is truly going to be one of the causes because money is influencing the greed of people nowadays. People want more money, they are willing to leave out the "quality" of mass-produced goods, but only so they can increase "quantity" and make more money. Money is bad, money is evil. How can something so evil be the basis of all of our modern society?!

 

I was just wondering that if we all should start growing our own food and living in communes the Babylon would fall, right? I mean they couldn't give us taxes we wouldn't have money and all buying and selling would be made with trading things.

 

the root problem with todays money is it is fiat currency.. in other words it has nothing to back up its value.. todays money is nothing more than a worthless promissory note.

I believe this world was much better back when currency didn't technically exist, and all you had to do to be able to get your hands on something you may want or even just the basic neccessities all you had to do is trade. Trading just seems the smarter way to go, instead of a piece of paper with no value whatsoever.

 

The United States owes trillions of dollars now, and our money has no gold backing it, the system will fail, the dollar will lose value.. But when will it happen and what will happen, will everybody still go on Hipforums, and eat at theyre favorite breakfast diner, I mean it's crazy to think of what will happen, nothing will be the same.

 

I think the world would be more fair,fun,genorous(i dont think that is spelled right)and cool without money and replaced with trading.Money makes people crazy,greedy, and evil.It stinks that you need money to be able to live in this society.

Not that I am one to rain on anyones parade, but what do you think can take the place of money, the world is to much involved in things for us to go back to trading pelts and shiny stones for the goods we need to live. I mean think about it, our hippy movement had these ideals at heart but you see what happened to us, it did not work for many reasons, it's not that money in and of it self is bad, it is the power it brings with it that is evil. It is a nice thought but I see no alternative to a monetary system. Can you think of going back to living off the land, we would need equipment, where does that come from. No we have come to far to go back. I'm not happy with it but what are you going to do ?

I know, don't worry, I'm not naive enough to think that we can easily switch back from our currency, but I was just stating a fact, that money is behind almost all crime (mind you, I said almost all crime). And money the way it is now-a-days is ruining what little of we have left. We were better off back in the day trading.

 

Yeah I hear you, but all the furry little ones we used to trade, would have all been gone by now ( most of them have been for the most part already) and we would find ways to fight and have crime over sea shells if that is what we had. I really know what you are saying just don't know how it all would work, we need to just put aside our differences and get along and every thing would be fine, don't know how to do that either. If you "CHECK OUT" POSTINGS on (GLP) and (ATS), you'll FIND OUT that MANY POSTINGS may be TEN TIMES (10X) LONGER than MINE!!! With "INTELLIGENCE" INFORMATION "type" of POSTS, you have to have MANY "DOTS" to "CONNECT" TOGETHER, or MANY "PUZZLE PIECES" to "FIT TOGETHER"!!! One, or two, "DOTS" or "PUZZLE PIECES" may NOT BE ENOUGH!!! The NSA (in LANGELY, VA) is sometimes "NICKNAMED": "THE PUZZLE PALACE"!!!

WHY do I POST this "type" of INFO on "HIPPY.COM", and NOT those other "SPECIFIC"" WEBSITES (who will probably KNOW what I'M talking about ALMOST "INSTANTLY")??? Those other WEBSITES "ALREADY KNOW", and HIPPIES "NEED TO KNOW" (which is WHY the "60's HIPPY REVOLUTIONS" didn't CATCH ON)!!! Your "OPPONENT" was "QUITE CLEVER", and HIPPIES were not on the "SAME LEVEL" to cause a "PARADIGM SHIFT"!!!

THEN you have to deal with INFORMATION BEING in "CONTEXT", just like "BIBLE QUOTES"!!! A BIBLICAL SENTENCE or "PASSAGE" needs its "CONTEXT" to help "DEFINE" its "MEANING"!!! FOR EXAMPLE: "BARACK OBAMA'S" ex-PASTOR (i.e. JEREMIAH WRIGHT) had his SERMON "PASSAGES" taken "OUT OF CONTEXT"!!! Also, "SUBTLE" CHANGES (or MIS-INTERPRETATIONS) in a MESSAGE can DESTROY it's "MEANING"!!!
