When I was at the extension center today they gave away some of their greenhouse plants. I picked up a 6 pack of a shrub that said boxwood on the label. It kind of looked like the boxwood I have at home so I took it. When I got home and pulled the label out of the container it said boxwood basil. It looks just like boxwood but smells like basil, so I looked it up on the internet. It said that it could be used as a edging shrub, and that it was also used in pesto. My question is has anyone ever heard of this? When I called the extension center I talked to several people who didn't have a clue. I would appreciate any info on this plant if you have heard of or used it.
Never heard of it myself, but google turns up stuff like this: http://www.burpee.com/product/herbs/basil/basil+boxwood+-+packet+(100+seeds).do Apparently it is edible.
