I just got that it's about a guy who's father died in World War II, who ends up growing up to become a self-loathing, depressed rock star who becomes jaded with the lifestyle. If there was ever any deeper meaning, I didn't pick up on it. The whole cartoon Nazi portion was just supposed to be Pink facing his demons, I think, and the final cartoon scene is just supposed to be him facing his mother and school teacher and realizing that final judgement was as pointless to worry about as the initial judgement being passed during the "Another Brick in the Wall" school period of his life. Finally he breaks down the wall - his emotional barrier, if you will.

Anyway, that's what I picked up on. Don't worry about Rubin, that guy's always pissy about something. He's got something up his ass, I'm convinced of it.

haha i've been a pink floyd fan for a long as i can remember. When i was in pre-school i was told to get up and sing once, the song i choose was Another Brick in the Wall my teacher was a lil shocked with the words "hey teacher leave those kids alone".

Although I've been a Floyd fan for many years I've never really liked The Wall (album or movie) I prefer their pre Darkside output.does anyone else feel this way or am I the only one:confused:

Jes - A little kid singing Pink Floyd? That must have been so cute! Did they give you a microphone and everything?

Ranchero - No, you're not the only one who feels this way. I hated the pre-dark side days, I found it to be a little Beatlesesque, but my brother loves their earlier work. It's usually the hippies who like their earlier work the most of all.

I definately feel that the pre-DSOTM is the best Floyd. Back when they had Sid, they were really experimental and unique. I would say my favorite album is Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

Personally I love the whole catalog, even post waters. But the wall and especially the final cut are so depressing I rarely listen to em.
