This marks the END of an ERA. The first person to ever trip out on LSD has finally taken the ultimate trip. He lived a very long and productive life, despite having done ACID! Which puts to lie every b.s. claim that Acid is dangerous and ruins lives. Yes, I hope he got to transition to the bardos with his favorite child, LSD. That man changed the world probably more than ANYONE ELSE in the last millennium. Think about that!
Anybody ever read if he actually retired from tripping at some point in his later years? Or perhaps he dosed up until the very end? Would love to know. Regardless, ol' Al is TRIPPIN BALLS somewhere now. God bless.
Rest In Peace Albert Hofman You've changed the world, helped us see past the layers of propoganda and deep into happiness. Your soul lives in all of us
yes hoffman did "retire" from taking acid. he felt he had gained all he was supposed to from it. I think he said so in 2001? but he tripped several hundred times, and microdosed a lot for scientific work. he had an incredibly respectful attitude toward lsd. he resented people using it for recreational reasons, and endorsed its use as a therapeutic tool to connect with and understand nature and the universe. this attitude is the same as many third-world shamans who use psy. substances as sacraments.
I owe so much to him. My life has changed in the most beautiful and positive way because of him. we need to make a sticky memorial for him.
I just think its cool that I was born and lived in a time when people like Hoffman and Shulgin are still alive and active.
It very weird, and ironic that Albert died yesterday. Today Is my birthday, and I, Phillip Albert Glasky shall trip in honor of this historic passing. Goodbye, and hello.
what a legacy to leave for the rest of mankind ,and to be remembered by ,I must say THANK YOU, a mind like that will be missed
I found out he died 05/01/08 12:01am. Thank you Albert Hofmann for synthesizing LSD and may you rest in peace.
Does anyone know if this was mentioned on NBC Nightly News? Conan O'Brain said it in his monologue, but Im not sure about the News I misses it.
It was in the newspaper... I am going to take acid every April 29th from now on. In honour of Hoffmann.
