My Rothbury buddy bailed out... ughh.

Hey people,

Well, I'm not sure if this msg is for any other reason than to vent... Anyhow, here it goes.... A buddy and me were heading out to Rothbury this July... I picked up the tickets for both of us (ordered online), paid with my visa, and was just counting the days.

Anyhow, ever notice when bad things happen, they all just seem to pile up... Anyhow, to make a long story short, my buddy bails out on me today (he cannot make it, as he is now having some money problems).... We picked up regular tickets, but, originally this guy wanted VIP tickets (which I talked him out of)... either way,,, good thing, as I would have been out double the money... Anyhow, not too cool, but hey, I'll keep an open mind, and try and think something happend since the weekend that was out of his control... but man, I cannot even vent, as I'm quite bummed out. Being 40 - makes it tough to find folks that would jump into a car, drive 6hrs, and party for 5 days - so finding someone to sell his ticket to will be hard... but missing the festival will be even harder.

Anyhow, I just had to vent, or at least wine to a few of you... as it may make me feel better...

I do have question/s though...

1. How hard is it (if possible) to sell festival tickets privatly?

2. How wierd is it to show up to these alone?

3. Any other suggestions on what you guys would do... would be greatly appriciated.

i bet there will be people outside the gate looking for some tickets, some wanderers

 

I'd throw it up on phantasytour....somebody will want a tix who hasn't gotten theirs yet. You might take a small financial lost but not much. I know a few festie goers who always go solo. I'm riding solo out of CO but meeting a bunch of folks en route. You can always share in some of our fun Socratez as long as you don't mind a bunch of kids in their mids 20s.

I think after the initial "bummer mood" wore off, I'm starting to think straight again...

Anyhow, yea, if I cannot find anyone to take the ticket, yea, I'll just bring it along, maybe try posting it for sale first somewhere... but let me try to unload it first. Sorry again about the rant guys, this was to be my first "real" festival (dead shows and small local festivals not included), so needless to say, I was big time bummed out...

Anyhow, TheShow, I gotta say thank you so much for the offer of hooking up with your group... You guys are so awesome on this site... and yea, if your cool with that, I may take you up on it (if your sure)...

Anyhow, thanks again guys, and I'll let ya all know how the saga continues.
