    Many of those women were born into that cult...they know no other way.

    There are plenty of religions out there, how do THEY get followers?

    I guess, but Catholicism is mainstream. These particular sects of cults are very very unaccepted within society. Taboo.

    Jesus was so unaccepted that he was put to death. His early followers(really a handful of men), with their tireless letter-writing and travelling, led Catholicism to the mainstream, where it used money, influence, and bloody wars to maintain and strengthen it's position.
