Alright, I used the search function and didn't find anything. New to the forums here by the way.

Anyway, I've been growing my dreads for about 6 months and they're well on their way to being nice, tight, and mature. However I do have some issues with flat and lumpy dreads.
Most of these are in the back, all my frontal and top dreads are pretty nice. Those that had issues I used a comb and could pretty well back comb out the lumps, but the ones in the back are harder and tighter.

Any suggestion for rounding the flatties and smoothing the lumpy ones?

you could wrap them up with yarn, or hemp, or anything... or put some beads on them :)

    good luck,

maybe we could see some photos of your lucious locks?

Sure, I'll post some in a bit in the picture thread you guys have going here.

A couple of my friends have put yarn and things in their hair, but I've always wondered if its a complete pain to get out?
I'm also trying to locate some beads to fit mine.

    leave em be
every dreads meant to be unique
lumpy flat kinky or crazy each should be unique
the ones u love the mose 5 years from now will be the ones that stand out not blend in the most... the wild and whacky ones that refuse to behave...
i love my flat and lumpy ones the most

but ofcourse i dont have a single 1 thats perfectly straight and round

mine are flat at the roots, it's just the way they knot up. I leave em be and they sort themselves out.

Alright, thank for the words from the wise! Very much appreciated. I just wrapped some in thread today and popped some beads in, gonna see if that helps the ones that were bugging me the most.
But I'll just let them be other than that =)
