So over the past couple of years Ive gained interest in listening to vinyl instead of CD's because, when i moved back to my home town that's what they all listened to. Anyway I moved back with my parents and now I really appreciate my step dad's vinyl collection, he has about a thousand old rock n roll vinyls, i paroozed a very small section of them (felt like I was looking through vinyl at a store) and pulled out and listened to about 10 of them, awesome stuff i've never heard. Right now im listening to John Cale and Terry Riley, if you like psycedelic rock, this will definitley blow you away. I pulled alot of stuff so far, a couple David Bowie albums, Alro Guthrie alices restaurant, Dave Mason, a Ringo Starr album, The Guess Who, Jeff Beck, Wings, David Bromberg... All original prints too, those 10 albums are worth hundreds of dollars. Its cool though I havent gotten down and listened to a lot of this stuff, Its all really good.
Arlo Guthrie is great. You can get anything you want at Alice's restaurant. The funny thing is we live in that very same restaurant.
I worship vinyl....everyone's going mp3 and whatever...im reverting back. I like my music tangible, and I love the sound of vinyl...plus, album art is becoming a lost art, if it isnt already. Shame. Yep, I got all my mom's albums, and a good chunk from some friends, and I will always and forever be putting that needle to the groove, baby.
Aw thats awesome!!! Album art is so cool, looking it over while listening to the album, it's humbling. and thanks Cate for the correction, youre always there for me lol
Vinyl is seriously the best! I listen to vinyl and cds. I used to only listen to cds but now my record collection is growing, so my vinyl is taking precedence over any other form of listening to music. I absolutely love when an older relative has some for me to look through - especially when I can talk them into giving me some of theirs. ..and besides I really don't understand this whole mp3 thing that's goin' on these days anyway.
I love vinyl. Anytime I'm in a store and see vinyl records, i'm always sure to grab them up for my own collection. My parents have 3 huge tubs filled with records. If only I had a record player i'm trying to maybe invest in one soon
I got one for 45$ it works fine and has an MP3 on it ironically enough, but I bought a ZUNE awhile back so, having 30,000 tracks at any time, catalogues of all the CDs you own or borrowed, its pretty cool.
