Hay! I was wondering what your favourite way to style your dreads? I have about shoulder length dreads, and my favourite thing to do is put them in a crazy up-do. sometimes i will also tie a bow in my hair with dreads. I'm curious to see what other people do! Charms? wool? scarves?! YeeeeeeeeeEEEE!!
i generally wear a head sock, or tie half up half down you can wear them back, tie them up, put pretties in them, let them hang its a matter of finding whats right for you and your dreads
I'm going to keep an eye on this thread as I have lately been wanting to experiment with different ways of having my dreads but I'm a guy so I don't really know how to do anything except tie them back. My dreads are relatively long now (half way down my back) so there should hopefully be a few different things I can do with them.
when my dreads hadnt shrunk yet I used to seperate them into 2 then tie em together then tuck the dreads into the knot I had just made.....my dreads are slightly too short now so I just do it with the top section of my hair
With my first set, they were mid back length, I would put them in two buns, like mickey mouse ears, with the ends sticking out all crazy. Now they r only long enough for big crazy pigtails.
i don't really style them too much.... for me, dreads are an anti-style. before i had them, i never styled my hair that much anyway. that's not to say that i didn't put a bead on one, once, lol. and i took some rainbow yarn one time and wrapped it around one. here's a link to the chinese staircase stitch, that i believe was posted somewhere in this forum: http://www.boondoggleman.com/prj_chinese_staircase.htm
mine are too short to do much with them but put them in poofy pigtails. or sometimes pull about 3 dreadlings from the side of my head to the back of my head and fasten with a barette. but then i have to tuck in the ones that aren't long enough. slowly growing!
thanks! i like it too, except then they're all funky crooked when i take them down and then my scalp hurts.
question my dreads are a little shorter than nakedtreehuger in ideas how to style them right now they are crazy! I usually wear a phat hat or wear a bandanna over my head any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
