There is a rumor going around at my school about LSD. That what you see while you are tripping is your brain bleeding into your spine. I know that it isn't true...but I think if my friends knew that that isn't how it works, then they wouldn't feel so anxious when we try it for the first time. I know that there have been tons of myths about LSD. Another one that is going around my school is that you will be considered legally insane after using it 12 times. I do not believe any of these myths....I've done my research. If anyone can help me convince my friends that these are not true....I would be very thankful!

this is an incredibly retarded rumor

you tell your average high school kid these days that they are fractal manifestations of a singular divine being, they label you psychotic
you tell them a drop of a liquid makes your brain bleed on itself and this is the entire function of the drug and it's immediate fact without second thought

I imagine this came about by someone tripping and feeling the effects of chakras or kundalini going up there spine...

Ok now why would you ask this question if you yourself already know the answer? And with all this research you've done you should know how to kindly tell your friends their fucking stupid.

simply tell them brain bleeding is called a cereberal annorhism (spellong) and is deadly without brain surgery and doesnt even make ya trip..

as for the sanity..all people are insane to 1 degree or another and 12 or 120 doesnt makr e a difference in the sanity of a person although some who were insane before tripping got worse..others got betrter...

why are you even trying to convince ignorant kids that they should do drugs...let em be ignorant

I'm not trying to make them go on drugs, I just hate the fact that they think this causes all of these bad things to happen to you.

Yeah, it really seems to annoy me. They used that one against magic mushrooms at school. They also said that if you had a bad trip, you will go insane forever. When I explained that if your brain is bleeding, you have a serious problem and you will probably die, they responded with "Well, it only makes it bleed a little bit" or "It makes tiny scabs on your brain". That is all completely bullshit. However, I do believe that it changes your mind, but not to the extent that you're completely nuts...

tell them to prove it. tell your friends to provide you with proof of a documented case where someone who took lsd's brain bled. if they can't do that..then tell them you're not willing to listen to any more of their assumptions if they aren't willing to do the research to prove them.

I haven't ever believed one word of that. I am so into health and how drugs affect it. Shrooms and LSD...affect it the least. I wish the media and government would lay off.

Screw them, whenever somebody says something stupid like that I say:

"Ok... So explain to me exactly how this happens."

They don't say a word. You can then feel free to counter the rediculous rumor further with science.

rubbish...... lsd does in fact have a bad rep. I just dont get it? people are all like "Oh mushrooms are ok for you, theyre natural, made from the earth, lsd is chemicals.....it fucks you up, blah blah" when the truth is, lsd is actually one of the safest drugs, physically you can do if you are in the right circumstances. Mentally it can change your life forever (which it can and will, because lsd is a powerful powerful drug, a very small amount has the potency to change your life forever)...this is why its considered so dangerous. But what people dont know is that if they use it correctly it changes you for the better. I truly believe that. Sure, It is dangerous like all drugs, but only if misused. People who have been harmed from lsd were actually tripping themselves and thought they could fly or some dumbass shit, so they jump off a building. Thanks dude, way to represent. Now everyone says lsd causes you to go insane. Its 12 hits now? I remember it was 10 = legally insane at my scool lol. Humorous...just tell them to go toa reputable source (such as erowid) and do their own research so they understand more about what they are ingesting. People at your age will believe what people they know say....its a shame really, bc people are ignorant as hell.
