ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww im so never going to texas now scorpions and centipedes and all those poisonous wriggly things weird the crap out of me. BLEH
Am I the only one that would've grabbed some scissors and slowly cut the scorpion up? Sorry that happened to ya.
oh my gosh kinky. I explained ever so matter of factly to one of my former bosses that if I ever came across a shark in the ocean I would simply punch him in the nose and show him who's boss. Such little faith in me.
OMG! I would SCREAM! I could only live with a big protective man in such a case! EWWWWWW! I screame at the teeniest of spiders, and that is ALL I get. Wow. I am a lucky girl.
I would have many cats, dogs, and men on the premises. TGF Canada and the northern climate which kills most everything.
I dont think there are any species of scorpion in the US that are of threat to humans. The really nasty ones are out in Africa and Australia. Of course, young children, the elderly, and people with health issues are at higher risk of death from everything, scorpion stings included. And I hope you didnt kill it; I would looove to have a scorpion native to the US. At the moment, I only have a pair of Emperors, and will be selling off the male. With the female pregnant, he is more of a danger in the tank than a help. Fun Fact: Scorpions glow under a black light (The fat one is the female)
Dzaaaaam. Aren't Scorpions one of the few species that commit suicide? Interesting thread. Too much of a city boy to know anything about it though.
No, they do not commit suicide. Being cold blooded, they spaz a lot when it gets too hot for them, and the spazing is often interpreted as them trying to sting themselves. However, a scorpion's own sting has little effect on it, IIRC.
